At the end of last year we saw a trailer for a new video game set in the same universe as Robert Kirkman‘s comic series The Walking Dead, which introduced a character named Aidan. The game, which was first announced four years ago, comes from Payday developer Overkill Software.
Last month a new trailer was released for a character named Maya, and that was followed today with a trailer for the third playable character, Grant. You can read more about the game and check out the latest character trailers below.
Alone or Alive
OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead is a four player co-op action FPS, where you and your friends fight the dead as well as the living. Set in The Walking Dead Universe, you and your group try to survive in a post-apocalyptic Washington D.C.
Each character has their own Special Abilities, Skill Trees, Squad Roles, Play Styles and Story Arcs, but teamwork is paramount. The action is close-up and intense: take out enemies carefully with a silent melee attack or go in guns blazing with your choice of each class weapons. You need to be able to improvise as nothing is certain and a horde of walkers is always right around the corner.
Hopefully the game itself will be as good as these character trailers have been. I wasn’t sure it would be something I’d be interested in, but I grow more and more curious with each one.
Overkill’s The Walking Dead is set to be released on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 sometime this fall.
