This year marks the 10-year anniversary of Marvel Studios, which began with 2008’s Iron Man and has since become one of the premiere movie studios, building on its brand of superheroes. And now to commemorate all of that, Marvel Studios will release all 20 of their films in IMAX theaters. This Marvel Studios 10th Anniversary Film Festival will be only for a limited run, with the films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe presented on certain days grouped by theme.
The event was announced via Marvel Entertainment’s official YouTube channel; watch that video and check out the screening dates and themes here below.
The film festival will run from August 30th through September 6, 2018, but it will not be a traditional movie marathon. Instead, four films will be shown sequentially throughout a five-day period. Then for two days, there will be repeat showings grouped together by theme, origins, and team-ups. The final day will have two films, but it will be up to a vote by the fans.
Unfortunately, the dates and times are already set, which means, if you have a day job you might be out of luck (if you can’t get the time off, that is). The matinee and late afternoon don’t lend itself well to those who work during the weekdays. And likewise to those who have an early shift and cannot make the prime time and late evening showings. That is, if you have the stamina to make it through all those screenings to begin with.
You can find out which IMAX theaters are participating over at Fandango. Check out the list of films and times as well in the image provided below. For Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, and Captain America: The First Avenger, this will be the first time they are presented in IMAX. But if you are a fan of any of the MCU films from Iron Man, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Black Panther, or Avengers: Infinity War, don’t miss this chance to see those in IMAX.
