
Annapurna Pictures has released an official trailer for If Beale Street Could Talk, the latest from Barry Jenkins, the Academy Award winning writer and director behind Best Picture winner Moonlight.
The movie is based on author James Baldwin‘s 1974 novel of the same name, and follows a woman trying to prove the innocence of her incarcerated lover while pregnant with their child.

SYNOPSIS:
Based on the novel by James Baldwin, If Beale Street Could Talk is the story of Tish, a newly engaged Harlem woman who races against the clock to prove her lover’s innocence while carrying their first-born child to term. It is a celebration of love told through the story of a young couple, their families and their lives, trying to bring about justice through love, for love and the promise of the American dream.
Starring in the film is KiKi Layne, Stephan James, Colman Domingo, Teyonah Parris, Regina King, Michael Beach, Aunjanue Ellis, Dave Franco, Diego Luna, Pedro Pascal, Emily Rios, Ed Skrein, Finn Wittrock, and Bryan Tyree Henry.
If Beale Street Could Talk is set to be released in theaters this fall season on November 30th.
