Following the release of yesterday’s teaser trailer for Toy Story 4 comes the release of yet another teaser for the upcoming Disney”¢Pixar sequel.
While it doesn’t reveal any huge plot details, we do get introduced to two new toys: Ducky and Bunny. Voiced by Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, respectively, Ducky and Bunny are two carnival toys who can’t quite remember Buzz Lightyear’s catchphrase. This leads up to all sorts of hilarious exchanges between the two. Check it out below.
The trailer is a bit of a reunion for Key and Peele, of sorts. The chemistry between the two is exactly something you would see in one of their bits. Their “reaction” to the trailer has them telling each other their favorite moments from it. So them figuring out how to say Buzz’s catchphrase works because they get it wrong almost every time. And the teaser has them acknowledge that they are going to be in the film when Woody and Buzz come into the frame to correct their mistake. To which, Ducky and Bunny laugh it off because it couldn’t be “To Infinity and Beyond.”
Of Key and Peele being in the film, director Josh Cooley said:
“Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, who voice Ducky and Bunny, are two of the most brilliant minds I’ve ever seen. Of course, they are effortlessly funny, which would be enough. But they are incredible actors that understand story. Their improvs weren’t just for comedy sake, they were story motivated which elevated Ducky and Bunny and the film to a level I never could have expected.”
Here is the official synopsis:
Woody has always been confident about his place in the world and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. But when Bonnie adds a reluctant new toy called “Forky” to her room, a road trip adventure alongside old and new friends will show Woody how big the world can be for a toy.
The film also features the voice cast of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Don Rickles, Estelle Harris, Wallace Shawn, John Ratzenberger, Jeff Pidgeon, Blake Clark, and Tony Hale.
Toy Story 4 opens in theaters on June 21, 2019.
Woody’s journey in “Toy Story 4″ includes a visit to a carnival where he meets Ducky and Bunny, two carnival prizes who are eager to be won.
