‘Avengers: Endgame’ Clip: Captain America Is Ready To Get That SOB Thanos

Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) and Captain America/Steve Rogers (Chris Evans)

We are just a few weeks away from the release of Avengers: Endgame, one of the most highly anticipated superhero films of the year. Needless to say, after the events of Avengers: Infinity War everyone is on edge. Nearly half of the heroes have been turned into dust with a simple snap of Thanos’ fingers. Of course, he had some help with the Infinity Stones. Now the Avengers want revenge. And they will have some added help from a mostly absent Captain Marvel (Brie Larson). But she has a very good explanation for that. Check out what the Avengers’ plan of attack will be and if they can survive Thanos’ brutality in a newly released clip, which you can watch below.

Okay, this isn’t really a “new” clip, but it is the most talked about one as it has been released to a shareholders, CinemaCon attendees, and a select group of journalists who saw two clips at the Walt Disney Studios lot in Burbank, California. In it, The Avengers have seen that Thanos has snapped his fingers again, which would indicate that the power of the mass genocide only can spread out so far. But Banner (Mark Ruffalo) says that if they do go in to attack Thanos, they would be “going in short handed.”

While the team realizes that Thanos still has the stones, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel suggests that they simply go get them and use them to bring everyone back.

“Just like that,” asks Banner.

“Yeah. Just like that,” Steve Rogers aka Captain America (Chris Evans) responds.

Black Widow says that even if there is a small chance of success, they owe it to everyone who isn’t there now to try.

Ever the realist Banner says that even if they try, how will it end any differently than before?

To which Captain Marvel says, “Because, before you didn’t have me.”

“Hey, new girl,” James Rhodes (Don Cheadle) chimes. “Everybody is about that superhero life, and if you don’t mind me asking, where the hell have you been all this time?”

“There are a lot of other planets in the universe,” Captain Marvel says. “Unfortunately, they did not have you guys.”

That’s when Thor (Chris Hemsworth) gets up out of his chair to approach Captain Marvel, and engage in a superhero game of who blinks first. Though he calls upon Stormbreaker to his hand, Captain Marvel isn’t phased. “I like this one,” says an impressed Thor.

Obviously, there are some key characters like Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Nebula (Karen Gillan), and Rocket (voice of Bradley Cooper) missing from the group meeting. Iron Man and Nebula’s absence could be due to the fact that they may be still adrift in space. But Rocket’s absence is still a mystery. Of course, this clip only runs at a little over a minute, so Rocket may be in another room, prepping the Benatar or enhancing a Quinjet for their possible travel into space to meet Thanos.

This is a more condensed version of what I saw on Friday. That clip had some exposition to it, plus talk about “The Garden,” the place where Thanos would head to once he succeeds with his plans to collect all the Infinity Stones.

However, not clear what point of the movie this clip takes place in. There may be a whole lot of exposition that explains how the surviving members of the Avengers are now at this point. We will just have to wait and see.

Avengers: Endgame opens in theaters on April 26, 2019.
