Adult Swim has finally revealed when Rick and Morty fans will get to see new episodes of the hit animated comedy. And while there is still a little bit of waiting to do, you’ll be pleased to learn that season four is coming this year.
The announcement was made with a brief video of the two title characters sharing the good news. You can give the video a watch below.
Season three of Rick and Morty came to a close a little over a year and a half ago on October 1, 2017. And then began the long wait fans of the show knew lie ahead of them. Because Mr. Poopybutthole told us so, and we all know we can trust in Mr. Poopybutthole.
A little over a year ago we found out that season four hadn’t even been ordered yet, which was a tiny bit troubling. But thankfully not long after that it was confirmed that not only was the expected season four officially on the way, but that Adult Swim had ordered 70 new episodes of the show. The masses rejoiced.
Now we have just a little bit more waiting to do. Rick and Morty will return for its fourth season sometime in November of this year.
Come to think of it, when Mr. Poopybutthole showed up at the end of the season three finale to once again remind us that we’d be waiting a long-ass time for season four, he said he might just have a “big, white Santa Claus beard” when the show returns. With it coming back in November, don’t be surprised if Santa Poopybutthole makes an appearance at some point.

About Rick and Morty:
Rick and Morty is Adult Swim’s most scientifically accurate animated comedy. Created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, it catalogues the bizarre misadventures of a bored scientific genius/drunkard and his socially awkward grandson, Morty. Their exploits tend to have unintended consequences for Morty’s dysfunctional family, especially his unfailingly mediocre father, Jerry. Watch Rick and Morty battle everything from interdimensional customs agents to Cronenberg monsters now.
