Amazon Prime Video

Amazon has announced the full lineup of movies and television shows set to arrive on Prime Video in the new month.

This includes a few highlighted titles coming to the streaming service as well as a little bit about them, followed by the rest of the incoming movies and TV shows and the date they’ll be added to Prime Video.

All of the Amazon Arrivals for September 2019 can be found below.

Animation, science fiction, horror, musicals, Westerns, period pieces “” fans of almost any genre will find something to like among the September arrivals to Prime Video. Here are our top 10 picks for the coming month.

1) Undone, Season 1 “” September 13

In this imaginative new adult animated series, a young woman awakens after a car crash to find that, for her, time no longer follows a straight line. Can she harness this quirk to find out the truth about her father’s death and possibly save him? Rosa Salazar and Bob Odenkirk star in the Amazon Original series. (TV-MA)

2) The Transparent Musicale Finale “” September 27

The award-winning Prime Original series Transparent comes to an end in raucous fashion with a two-hour musical episode. After the death of Maura, the Pfeffermans must deal with their grief “” and the horror of learning that Shelly (Judith Light) plans to stage a musical play based on the family. (TV-MA)

3) American Horror Story: Apocalypse, Season 8 “” September 24

The eighth season of producer Ryan Murphy’s macabre masterwork follows a complex plot involving nuclear war and the Antichrist. Each year, AHS tells a different story, but Apocalypse weaves in events from the Murder House and Coven plots. The seven previous seasons are also available on Prime Video. (18+)

4) Rango “” September 27

This Oscar-winning animated film tells the story of a chameleon who dreams of being a hero. When Rango is pressed into the job of sheriff of the lawless Wild West town of Dirt, he learns the meaning of the adage ‘be careful what you wish for.” Johnny Depp voices Rango. (PG)

5) True Grit “” September 30

It’s unusual for the remake of a classic film to be widely considered better than the original, but the Coen Brothers are unusually good filmmakers. Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon and Hailee Steinfeld star in the tale of a 14-year-old girl who seeks “a man with true grit” to avenge her father’s death. Nominated for 10 Academy Awards. (PG-13)

6) Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior “” September 30

The sci-fi classic that vaulted Mel Gibson to stardom still thrills more than 35 years after its release. Gibson plays a loner traveling through a post-apocalyptic landscape who stops to help a small town fight a vicious gang. (R)

7) Victoria, Season 3 “” September 3

The early years of Queen Victoria’s reign are dramatized in this outstanding series starring Jenna Coleman as the young monarch. As season three opens, Victoria and husband Albert (Tom Hughes) have six children and are approaching their 30s. As they deal with domestic issues, they learn of revolutions sweeping across Europe. (TV-PG)

8) Dreamcatcher “” September 30

Stephen King’s 2001 novel makes for a satisfyingly creepy movie, directed by Lawrence Kasdan. Four young men with mysterious powers “” played by Damien Lewis, Timothy Olyphant, Jason Lee and Thomas Jane “” battle to save the Earth from an alien invasion. (R)

9) Harlem Nights “” September 30

Eddie Murphy directed and stars alongside Richard Pryor in this classic comedy-drama. Murphy and Pryor play a pair of Harlem nightclub owners trying to keep a gangster from muscling in on their business in the late 1930s. Redd Foxx’s final film. (R)

10) Event Horizon “” September 30

This sci-fi horror film has grown into a cult favorite in the two decades since its release. In 2047, a rescue spaceship is sent to find the Event Horizon, an experimental craft that vanished years earlier. Laurence Fishburne, Sam Neill and Kathleen Quinlan star. (R)
