During the Legendary Pictures panel at San Diego Comic-Con, director Duncan Jones took the stage in Hall H to discuss his upcoming Warcraft film. He addressed concerns about the pressure associated with adapting a property that’s been around nearly 20 years, and how he deals with the expectations of millions of World of Warcraft players by saying that we deserve to see an origin story how the conflict between orcs and humans began.

I was nearly eaten alive by zombies, singed to a cinder by Smaug, stuffed & mounted by Norman Bates, and gassed to unconsciousness by body odor, but somehow, I lived to tell the tale… of PREVIEW NIGHT! Gone are the days where preview night at San Diego Comic-Con was a quiet pre-convention affair for those lucky few to take in the sites and sounds before the throng of geek society overran the show floor. This preview night was as madly packed as I’ve ever seen the convention floor on its most attended days gone by, and that’s a wonderful thing. I couldn’t remotely get to see everything I wanted to in those few preview hours, but I made the most of my time, and narrowly avoided my demise on more than one occasion. UPDATE: We’ve added several photos that we took at the Peavey booth during Preview Night to the image gallery below. \m/ Here’s a bit of news that’s right up this guitar-playing geek’s ally. Peavey Electronics has revealed a new line of licensed instruments and accessories at San Diego Comic-Con, with their sights squarely set on film geeks who also appreciate musical instruments. Based on the epic sci-fi film that spawned generations of geekdom, Star Wars, this new line will include offerings from their Rockmaster full-sized and three-quarter-sized electric guitars, half-size acoustic guitars, ukuleles, and several accessories.
