Coming This April From Shout! Factory: Marvel Knight’s Animation ‘Inhumans’ Movie On DVD!

Marvel Knights Inhumans movie

Emerging from the Terrigen Mist of the Himalayas. Beamed down from the recently uncovered Blue Area of the Moon. Shout! Factory releases the Marvel Knights Animation presentation of The Inhumans on DVD on April 23, 2013.

The Inhumans were created by comics legends Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and debuted in Fantastic Four issue #45. They are not well-known outside of well-traveled comics circles. Inside the Marvel comics universe, however, knowledge of their existence ranges far and wide amongst the superhero/supervillain communities. This is funny since The Inhumans are an ancient superhuman society that goes through great pains to remain hidden from the world at large. And by “great pains” I mean they once moved their entire civilization and city to the far side of the moon!

Be sure to check out the DVD cover and official synopsis below the jump.

Trailer Review: ‘Warm Bodies’: Humans Infect Zombies With The Power of Love
space
Groonk   |  @   |

Official Synopsis

After a zombie becomes involved with the girlfriend of one of his victims, their romance sets in motion a sequence of events that might transform the entire lifeless world.

What I Learned:

It’s near the end of the world and Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: First Class) is the handsomest, least-decayed zombie in the entire airport of corralled zombies. Hold on a sec, (some of) these zombies are different. Hoult and a large part of the shambling, still-fleshy zombies seem to retain thoughts and feelings they can’t express. They shadow movements of what they were when they had heartbeats and 98.6-degree bodies. But when a dead-blooded American boy meets the Action Chick (Teresa Palmer) of his dreams, love at first sight overrides love at first bite (hate me later for that sentence). The zombie boy begins to change because of the fully human girl. Madcap rom-com apocalypse horror hijinks ensue while The Black Keys “Lonely Boy” plays us out.

Music Break: DJ Earworm’s ‘United State of Pop 2012 (Shine Brighter)’

2012 United State of Pop (Shine Brighter) cover

My favorite part of 2012’s year end has been delivered unto the internet. DJ Earworm‘s latest United State of Pop 2012 (Shine Brighter) is online. Are you ready to celebrate all that was pop in 2012?

The United State of Pop series are mash-ups of a year’s top pop songs assembled into a coherent groove by DJ Earworm. For the year of 2012, he’s used the 25 biggest hits in the U.S. as determined by Billboard’s weekly Hot 100 charts. Don’t worry. There’s not a hint of ‘Gangnam Style’ to be heard. At least, I couldn’t decipher that infectious beast from the rest of the catchy hooks.

These days I’m not a fan of a lot of the pop songs that saturate terrestrial radio. So it’s more than strange that I like an amalgam of the year’s popular sounds more than the individual product. Last year’s is the shortest mash-up when compared to all the previous years. I’m not sure what that means for the state of pop music in the U.S.

Have a listen/watch at United State of Pop 2012 (Shine Brighter) here below the cut.

Witch Doctor: Mal Practice begins with Dr. Vincent Morrow in his lab battling what can only be described as a severe case of demon larvae infection. Think one of Cthulhu’s many brethren only pink, gigantic, erupting from a young man’s chest, and mad as all hell. This possession case is the perfect introduction into Morrow’s world.

Dr. Morrow feverishly works on a cure, Penny Dreadful supernaturally sedates the host and paramedic Eric Gast operates the physical containment apparatus. (That’s the Diablosuction Pump in magic/medical terms.) This easily establishes everything we need to know about our heroes in a one page spread. We get to see our heroes doing what they do best. And what they do best is daring do against the forces of infectious darkness.
