Release Date: Available Now
Cover Price: $4.99
Savage Jungle Princess is not your typical comic. It’s being done as a FREE weekly web comic that you can ALSO order as a printed comic for $4.99 via the Kult Creations website. Although it’s never stated, I assume the comic takes place during World War II, and features a shipwrecked young woman on the run from an all female crew of half dressed Nazi soldiers.

Luckily, to save her from a giant dinosaur, comes a Tazan-like…wait for it…Savage. Jungle. Princess.

Ghostbusters #13 kicks off the year-long “MASS HYSTERIA” storyline celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Ghostbusters! And believe me, by the looks of this issue, it’s not gonna be a cakewalk for the boys in gray! Writer Erik Burnham never gives these poor guys a break. Wait, I take that back. In this issue, they have a nice little break from all the ghosts and busting because…. yeah, I’m not gonna spoil that part. But, needless to say, someone we all know and love gets exactly what he deserves. Meanwhile, one of the MOST demanded characters in Ghostbusters history makes their long, LONG awaited comic debut!!!!… and I’m not going to spoil that either. Man, this issue is hard to review without spoiling all the goodness inside. Let me put it this way: If you’ve ever seen the movie Ghostbusters, you’ll want to pick up this issue.

Art by Riley Rossmo & Colin Lorimer
Letters by Jim Campbell
Covers by Colin Lorimer (A) & Riley Rossmo (B)

Release Date: January 15, 2014

Cursed #1 would have been a lesser comic all together if not for the tool of storytelling used by the creative team. In fact, I don’t think I would’ve liked it at all otherwise. Writers Michael Moreci and Tim Daniel make use of their talents to make what could have been a mediocre story fantastic. This isn’t “OH MY GOD! THEY’RE PUTTING AN ALL-NEW SPIN ON THE GENRE!,” but what they DID do was use a very unique way to tell this story. I can’t stress that the way they tell this story is SO FUN! It starts with an aftermath of sorts, and the issue ends on a huge reveal that, even though you knew was coming, really knocks you for a loop. Amidst all of that, we get some great information about what’s going on, where the story is headed, and what the purpose of this book is.

G.I. Joe #13 could be titled “Everything you always wanted to know about Cobra, but where afraid they’d kill you for asking.” Thankfully, it’s not. What it IS is a really awesome issue. This month, new writer Paul Allor gives us not one, not two, but THREE stories all packed into one surprisingly not over-crammed issue. The stories are framed with The Baroness being told about the history of the Cobra organization. A tale that goes back — like REALLY way back. It turns out, the Cobra organization has been behind some pretty interesting things that you’d never even associate them with. You know that I’m anti-spoiler, so I’m not going to tell you what those things are, but I suggest you pick this issue up and find out what they are, because I guarantee you’ll be highly entertained. This is one of my favorite issues of Joe in a long time.

Lil Sonja #1 is not only enjoyable for people who read the regular title, but it’s the PERFECT gateway for younger readers (both girls AND boys) to be introduced to the character. There’s only problem…. Writer Jim Zub pulls off a writing assignment that I can only assume was pretty daunting. Turn the She-Devil with a Sword into a playful little girl that goes on adventures. While clothed. Thankfully, he pulls it off quite successfully, all the while not dumbing down the character to make it unreadable for guys like me who’ve been reading Red Sonja since the early 1980s. It really is a classic “kid’s comic” like the old Harvey comics that could be read and enjoyed by both children AND their parents.
