Marvel movies certainly have been big news lately. With all the hub bub around the Captain America, Avengers, and Thor movies, you might forget there’s a reboot of the Spider-Man series coming out in 2012. You may recall Percy Jackson star Logan Lerman was the early rumor but since then a number of Hollywood’s freshest young faces have been linked to the role of Peter Parker.
As we previously reported, Kick-Ass star Aaron Johnson was recently spotted on the set of director Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class, but the latest internet rumor has him up for Sony’s Spider-Man reboot. Johnson joins the already robust list of actors up for the part including Jamie Bell, Frank Dillane, Alden Ehrenreich, Andrew Garfield and Josh Hutcherson. Also new to the list is Anton Yelchin, the 21-year-old who made a big impact in last year’s Star Trek and Termination Salvation.

| GREAT SCOTT, There’s An Episodic ‘Back To The Future’ Game On The Way! |

This is heavy! Telltale Games has struck a deal with NBC Universal and is now hard at work on an episodic game based on my all-time favorite movie Back to the Future, as well as Jurassic Park. No word yet on style of gameplay, but Telltale is known for adventure games like Sam & Max.
If you’re not familiar with Back To The Future, then I can’t acknowledge your existence but for those of us who love the classic “˜80s trilogy about time-traveling Deloreans, hoverboards, and Michael J. Fox, this is our time! Telltale’s CEO Dan Connors said that the games, which are in early development, wouldn’t be so much sequels but rather “a new interpretation of their worlds for a new medium.”

Would you watch Taskmaster and Preacher movies?
The A-Team director Joe Carnahan certainly hopes so. Carnahan recently spoke to Superhero Hype about the Taskmaster adaptation he was working on with The A-Team producer Alex Young. Taskmaster is a Marvel Comics villain who first appeared in 1980 in Avengers #195, and is a character that Carnahan considers to be “below the radar.” “Originally I wanted to do ‘Juggernaut’ ’cause I had a really good take on that, and then ‘Taskmaster’ was something we talked about, and I haven’t discussed it with [Young] for ages, but I would love to get back in. I love the idea of a guy with photographic reflexes, he can see something and repeat it, I thought that was such a cool idea.”

Kudos to the people over at BBC America for doing something I’ve never seen done before on television. They’re currently airing an advertisement for Bill Willingham‘s Fables, my current favorite ongoing comic series. Vertigo‘s blog posted this a few days ago and I thought it was worth sharing with you lovely readers.
If you’re not reading Fables, I highly recommend the series. It’s a story that appeals to anyone who’s ever been read a bedtime story or used their imagination to play in the world of fairy tales and fables. Expertly crafted with a combination of art and storytelling that will really show you the power of the medium, Fables is an amazing journey that I want you to take. Check out the ad below and let us know what you think in the comments section below.
