Not content with just a World’s Finest storyline, DC and Legendary Pictures have announced the additions of even more characters to the already overpopulated Man Of Steel sequel, tentatively titled Batman vs. Superman.

The list, consisting of Captain Marvel, Martian Manhunter, Lobo, Booster Gold, Blue Beetle, Guy Gardner, Supergirl, Zatana, and Gorilla Grodd, is sure to be met with mixed emotions from fans.

Director Zach Snyder stated, “I mean, we already have Batman and Wonder Woman on board. So I was thinking that if we get these other guys in here too, we can skip making a whole bunch of movies and just go into Justice League next year. I mean, you know who these guys are from the comics. You don’t need a whole movie per guy. Why carry your eggs in several baskets when you just cram ’em all into one really awesome basket?”

Star Trek, Star Wars, and now”¦ Stargate!

J.J. Abrams, the powerhouse director with a passion for lens flare, has been tapped to take over Roland Emmerich‘s planned Stargate reboot. In an announcement that seems to have come out of nowhere, MGM stated in their official press release that, “If there was ever a director worthy of taking on such a vast and loved universe with an exponential amount of worlds to explore, it’s J.J. Abrams. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have him on board.”

Earlier this week, sources in Vatican City revealed that the Catholic Church has long been unhappy with DC Comics’ use of the term “Caped Crusaders” to describe comic book heroes Batman and Robin. The contention is apparently based on actual historical figures that were the original caped crusaders, the Knights Templar.

The Catholic Church, which boasts an estimated 1.2 billion followers, has decided to produce documents from the period of the Crusades that contain period art showing the Knights with their capes and cloaks. Additionally, tapestries and other art pieces have long been known to exist, but nothing was ever done about it. Their argument states that if anyone has the right to be known as such, it should be the warriors who risked life and limb to protect travelers.

Coming off their successful and critically acclaimed Afterlife With Archie, the comic book series that set the Archie gang in a Walking Dead-style zombie apocalypse, Archie Comics has announced a follow up in the style of another popular TV series. Game of Archie places the gang in a medieval epic filled with dragons, sex, and lots of political backstabbing in the style of Game Of Thrones.

In the new series, Betty and Veronica are the leaders of two great house in the world of Riverdaleos. They must fight against each other for the hand of Archie, who is the son of the former king of the land, exiled at a young age, and prophesied to return to the kingdom on the backs of his wondrous dragons. Meanwhile, King Reggie struggles to keep hold of the throne while dealing with the political intrigue from Moose, Midge and Kevin Keller. In the north, Jughead Snow finds his place in the world after joining the Night’s Watch and fighting against the oncoming threat of the White Walkers.

In a surprising announcement today, Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan announced yet another spin-off to the meth-powered adventures of Walt and Jesse. Going with the working title Can’t Fool Huell, the show will follow in the footsteps of the yet-to-air Better Call Saul, which stars everyone’s favorite sleaze-ball lawyer character Saul Goodman.

Gilligan stated, “Logically it makes sense. I mean, we want to tell good stories and there are hundreds left to tell in this universe. We anticipate Better Call Saul to be just as big as Breaking Bad, so we’re looking for something to be just as big as that.” The show is slated to feature former Goodman flunky Huell Babineaux in a post-Breaking Bad world – in contrast to the prequel that is Better Call Saul.
