Play the music and light the lights. The emergence of more Marvel and Muppets in the Disney theme parks is enough to make the future look very bright! Disney must balance so many properties these days that there is only enough slots during the yearly theatrical schedule to place movies. A few are reserved for “Disney proper,” whereas others must account for Marvel, Lucasfilm, and Pixar.

Likewise, many of the Disney theme parks’ newest offerings are not “originals,” but rather come from preexisting brands. Two Disney brands gaining more exposure in the parks come from arenas that have been relatively absent in Disney parks: Marvel and the Muppets.

Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT!

One of the best known Disney rides is about to be replaced in one location. It was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con 2016 that a new Guardians of the Galaxy ride called Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! will be setting up shop in the structure that The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is currently located in at the Disney California Adventure park.

To go along with the announcement a video was also released that shares details about the new ride, which is coming in 2017, and some concept art. You can read more information and check out the video below.

‘Skull Island: Reign Of Kong’ Opens At Universal Orlando Resort

Skull Island Reign of Kong Universal Orlando Resort

Skull Island: Reign of Kong, a King Kong-themed attraction, opened today at the Universal Orlando Resort in Orlando, FL.

The new attraction, which is located in Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park, allows park attendees to board a massive 40-foot-long, 17-ton expedition vehicle that reportedly navigates an “increasingly foreboding terrain” of Skull Island, home to the legendary King Kong, who also makes an appearance on the ride.
