One of the best known Disney rides is about to be replaced in one location. Ever since the opening of Walt Disney World in 1971, a Magic Kingdom-style park has debuted in a different locale around the world in each subsequent decade. Tokyo Disneyland: 1983. Disneyland Paris (then called EuroDisneyland): 1992. Hong Kong Disneyland: 2005. On June 16, one of Disney’s most ambitious theme parks finally sees its day. Shanghai Disneyland Park, part of the Shanghai Disney Resort, a project in the works for more than 15 years, is an epic Magic Kingdom with unique experiences, Chinese cultural influences, and technological innovations.

As we anticipate the opening of Shanghai Disneyland, let’s peek through the curtain at what Disney has in store for its future guests.

As the Disney Fantasy nears closer to celebrating four years on the open seas, and I recently returned from setting sail on my third voyage on the magnificent vessel, I wanted to place focus on its five main musical productions in the Walt Disney Theatre.

Two of the three featured musicals are exclusive to the Disney Fantasy, two honor the arrival and departure of guests, and the other is appropriately named Believe. Reviewing these five shows required having seen each of them multiple times and evaluating them in comparison to not only one another on the Disney Fantasy, but also those on Disney Cruise Line’s other ships and within the domestic theme parks. Let’s dive right in!

Disneyland has hit the 60th anniversary mark. Now what? The California theme park, which has belonged to the “Disneyland Resort” for the past 14 years, is in the early stages of a renewal. Though the advancements are not yet visible, the happiest place on earth will no doubt experience nothing short of a transformation over the coming years – especially over the course of the next six decades. If guests who first walked through Walt’s Main Street, U.S.A. on opening day could see Disneyland today, they may not be able to identify much of anything surrounding the hub. Disneyland, as well as experiences around its periphery, have changed – many of them for the better. But what will 2075 resemble?

Envisioning Disneyland Resort’s next 60 years requires remembering the park’s origins, tracking recent developments, and imagining the possibilities of the future.

How do most of us find out about Disneyland for the first time? The television commercial, as antiquated as it may seem, represents an ideal vehicle for capturing its audience and compacting the most entertaining and persuasive content in 30 to 60 seconds.

As we recognize Disneyland’s 60th anniversary, we pay tribute to some of those commercials over the last many decades that prompted us to ask our families a simple question: “When can we go to Disneyland next?”

Disney In Depth: Disney Cruise Line’s Wonder-ful Ship

The feeling of setting sail for the first time on a Disney Cruise cannot be articulated. It elicits excitement and curiosity, for sure, but also amazement. I recently returned from a voyage aboard the Disney Wonder, the second ship to debut from Disney Cruise Line back in 1999. This was not my first Disney cruise by any means. Yet each one manages to stir me to sing the praises of Disney Cruise Line.

Albeit more outdated, smaller, and overlooked in Disney’s fleet of four fantastic vessels, the Disney Wonder — which could very well enter a long dry dock (major refurbishment) period in 2016 — offers an array of unparalleled experiences, as well as Disney Cruise Line’s best features.
