An expansion to Disney’s Animal Kingdom inspired by director James Cameron‘s blockbuster hit Avatar was first announced during the D23 Expo back in 2013, with more information coming out of the D23 Expo in 2015.

Disney Parks has released a behind the scenes video giving us a little peek behind the curtain to see how things are looking in Pandora: The World of Avatar, which is set to open this upcoming summer.

If you have the opportunity to visit Walt Disney World, you must know which rides and shows everyone queues up for at the start of the day. At Epcot, all race toward Soarin’ or Test Track. For Animal Kingdom, Expedition Everest, and Kilimanjaro Safaris bring the longest lines. At last summer’s D23 Expo, we got a tiny glimpse at what the Disney Imagineers have in mind for their Avatar-themed expansion at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at the Disney World Resort. Ground broke back in January at the Orlando theme park on the new land, which is being created in conjunction with Avatar director James Cameron and Lightstorm Entertainment.

The folks over at the Disney fan site MouseSteps posted a video of some Avatar-colored twinkling lights seen this weekend on the Animal Kingdom’s centerpiece, the Tree of Tree. The lights were part of the park’s new special event, Harambe Nights, which celebrates the story of Disney’s The Lion King. Check out the video here below.

Everyone loves to have fun on Halloween, even the animals at Disney World‘s Animal Kingdom park, who were given a special treat today in honor of the holiday: pumpkins!
