‘Avengers: Endgame’ Passes ‘Avatar’ To Become The Highest Grossing Movie Of All-Time

There was a point in time when it looked like Avengers: Endgame wasn’t going to make it past James Cameron‘s Avatar as the highest-grossing movie of all-time. Though it was a pretty arbitrary milestone that is practically meaningless, because we all know which is the better of the two films.
Not that the title would have given Avengers: Endgame any more validation it needs, but it has happened, as confirmed by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, who announced the news to a packed Hall H at the San Diego Comic-Con. More on all of this below.

Disney Announces New Release Dates For X-Men, Marvel, ‘Star Wars,’ and ‘Avatar’ Films

Since Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, the Mouse House’s theatrical release schedule has been significantly updated. Now the studio will be responsible for the release of all of the upcoming Fox films like Dark Phoenix, Stuber, Spies in Disguise, and much more. While some of the bigger films will stick with their current dates, others like The New Mutants will be doing some shifting to later ones.
Additionally, Disney has announced release dates for untitled Marvel Studio films, the future of Star Wars after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and the Avatar sequels. You can find all of the dates below.

Edie Falco Joins ‘Avatar’ Sequels As Mysterious Human Character

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about the Avatar sequels. What was once something that was gestating has now completed production.
While we know that Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, and Stephan Lang are all set to return and reprise their respective roles, Edie Falco will be joining the film as a mysterious new character who has ties to a rather shady group with possibly nefarious intentions for Pandora. ‘Titanic’ Star Kate Winslet Reunites With James Cameron For ‘Avatar’ Sequels

A big name has signed on for director James Cameron‘s long-in-development Avatar sequels. Kate Winslet, who starred in Cameron’s 1997 box office juggernaut Titanic, is set to reunite with the director for the new Avatar titles.
Cameron said in a statement that he and Winslet had been looking for something else to work on together, and that she’ll be playing a character named Ronal. You can read his full quote below.

‘Fear The Walking Dead’ Star Cliff Curtis Joins James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’ Sequels

There’s a bunch of Avatar sequels on the way. Eventually. We’ve been hearing about a sequel to Aliens and Terminator 2: Judgment Day director James Cameron‘s record-smasher for years, but the second movie has been delayed multiple times.
Creeping up on a decade since the original was released, the sequels are starting to take shape once again. Last month, release dates for the four sequels were set again, with the first now scheduled for release in 2020—11 years after the original was released. And now a new actor has joined the cast. Fear the Walking Dead star Cliff Curtis has signed on for one of the lead roles in the sequels.

‘Avatar’ Sequels Have Release Dates… Again

The Avatar sequels have been pushed back so many times it’s hard to even remember that there ever was an Avatar film to begin with. So the anticipation for said sequels may have waned a bit. Still, that hasn’t stopped James Cameron from pursuing these sequels. He has been working on the technology to perfect the visuals while also polishing the script. Surprise! James Cameron Confirms ‘Avatar 2’ Won’t Be Released In 2018

At some point in time enough is enough. Avatar 2 has been pushed back more times than anyone can count. And yet, every time there’s word it gets pushed back to a later date, we are supposed to take it as a shock. So, once again, Avatar 2 won’t be able to make its release date, which was supposed to be sometime in 2018.
Director James Cameron spoke to The Sun about teaming up with Israeli-Canadian journalist Simcha Jacobovici on a documentary to see if the lost city of Atlantis exists. During the interview, the subject of Avatar 2 came up, and that’s when Cameron gave the disappointing news.
