Since Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, the Mouse House’s theatrical release schedule has been significantly updated. Now the studio will be responsible for the release of all of the upcoming Fox films like Dark Phoenix, Stuber, Spies in Disguise, and much more. While some of the bigger films will stick with their current dates, others like The New Mutants will be doing some shifting to later ones.

Additionally, Disney has announced release dates for untitled Marvel Studio films, the future of Star Wars after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and the Avatar sequels. You can find all of the dates below.

Last year, the Department of Justice approved The Walt Disney Company’s $71 billion offer to acquire Fox’s entertainment assets, including television and film properties. The news was a cause for celebration for Marvel fans as the move meant that X-Men and Fantastic Four characters would finally be able to play in the Marvel Studios sandbox.

However, this also meant that the current X-Men franchise, including its many spinoffs like Deadpool and the yet-to-be-released The New Mutants, was in serious jeopardy of no longer continuing or being rebooted. Deadpool, a raunchy superhero with a debaucherous behavior, doesn’t quite fit into what Disney has done with the MCU and the family friendly films they release.

Another day, another handful of films getting rescheduled. This time, 20th Century Fox is making a handful of moves and a few surprising announcements. It’s going to be a while before Marvel Studios can find a way to incorporate the X-Men films and characters into the MCU properly. So for the time being, Fox will be releasing their current slate of X-Men films as is. That slate included three films that were to be released this year. They were The New Mutants, Deadpool 2, and X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

However, it looks like Fox has done some scheduling shifts for at least two of the films. Deadpool 2 is getting bumped up to an earlier release, while The New Mutants is getting pushed back, way back to next year.
