Well folks, we did it. One more year has passed and things continue to move towards getting back to normal. Although the meaning of normal is still up for debate. For me, normal is a year full of movies that I got to enjoy in the theaters, and more than a few that I wished I had seen in a dark theater instead of my TV. 2021 was the year I hit 53 new movies watched, and I am happy to report that I doubled that in 2022, as I ended up with 112 new movies watched. And just for a quick reminder, any movie I see for the first time, no matter in theaters or on my TV, counts towards that total. If you follow my social media, you know locking in that #10 spot was a very tough decision. And as I was first writing this out, I ended up switching movies once more. Therefore, before we get to my Top 10 movies of 2022, I’d like to highlight a few honorable mentions that just missed making the main list.

| Disney Announces New Release Dates For X-Men, Marvel, ‘Star Wars,’ and ‘Avatar’ Films
Since Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, the Mouse House’s theatrical release schedule has been significantly updated. Now the studio will be responsible for the release of all of the upcoming Fox films like Dark Phoenix, Stuber, Spies in Disguise, and much more. While some of the bigger films will stick with their current dates, others like The New Mutants will be doing some shifting to later ones. Additionally, Disney has announced release dates for untitled Marvel Studio films, the future of Star Wars after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and the Avatar sequels. | Edie Falco Joins ‘Avatar’ Sequels As Mysterious Human Character
It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about the Avatar sequels. What was once something that was gestating has now completed production. While we know that Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, and Stephan Lang are all set to return and reprise their respective roles, Edie Falco will be joining the film as a mysterious new character who has ties to a rather shady group with possibly nefarious intentions for Pandora. | Rumored ‘Avatar’ Sequel Titles; Get Ready For A Collective Groan and Eye Roll
Yes, the Avatar sequels (yes, more than one) have been in development since we could remember. Of course, numerous delays have put these sequels on hold for a very long time. But it looks like director James Cameron is ready to go. Production for these films begun last year, and with everything being kept a secret, we don’t know much about these films. But maybe a few titles will help. There’s a new rumor that says the four titles of the Avatar sequels have been revealed. | ‘Titanic’ Star Kate Winslet Reunites With James Cameron For ‘Avatar’ Sequels
A big name has signed on for director James Cameron‘s long-in-development Avatar sequels. Kate Winslet, who starred in Cameron’s 1997 box office juggernaut Titanic, is set to reunite with the director for the new Avatar titles. Cameron said in a statement that he and Winslet had been looking for something else to work on together, and that she’ll be playing a character named Ronal. You can read his full quote below.
