Director Christian Rivers‘ The Mortal Engines hits theaters next month. The film adaptation of Phillip Reeve‘s young adult novel of the same name takes place in a dystopian future where civilization has been reduced to cities and metropolises living on large motor vehicles. Universal has released the newest trailer for Christian Rivers‘ Mortal Engines, a film adaptation of the YA books of the same name by author Philip Reeve. Once again, the YA adaptation is set in a dystopian time where our young protagonist is the only one who can bring peace to a broken world. So how will this differ from any of the other films with a similar premise? | Watch: Nathan Fillion Finally Becomes Nathan Drake In ‘Uncharted’ Fan Film
A movie based on Naughty Dog’s hit Uncharted video game series has been stuck in a special level of development Hell for quite a while now. To give you an idea, Sony put the project on the fast track…back in 2009. For a long time fans of the games were begging Sony to cast Firefly and Castle star Nathan Fillion in the lead role of Nathan Drake. Because Fillion is without question the best possible actor to play Drake, and fans knew it. Hell, even Fillion himself wanted to play Drake. Unfortunately Sony didn’t agree, and numerous other actors have been attached to the role over the years. But none of that matters now. Since Sony didn’t give the fans what they wanted, the fans themselves have done it instead. It’s just a short fan film sadly, but it is a live-action Uncharted movie starring Fillion as Drake. You can check it out below, if it hasn’t been pulled for some reason.

At the end of last year we saw a teaser trailer for Mortal Engines, an adaptation of author Philip Reeve‘s book series. Now Universal has released an official trailer for the movie, which stars Hera Hilmar, Robert Sheehan, Hugo Weaving, Jihae, Ronan Raftery, Leila George, Patrick Malahide, Frankie Adams, Caren Pistorius, and Stephen Lang. The screenplay is penned by the team behind the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies, Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, and Philippa Boyens, and the movie is directed by Christian Rivers, an Oscar-winning visual effects artist and longtime Jackson collaborator.
