A movie based on Naughty Dog’s hit Uncharted video game series has been stuck in a special level of development Hell for quite a while now. To give you an idea, Sony put the project on the fast track…back in 2009.
For a long time fans of the games were begging Sony to cast Firefly and Castle star Nathan Fillion in the lead role of Nathan Drake. Because Fillion is without question the best possible actor to play Drake, and fans knew it. Hell, even Fillion himself wanted to play Drake. Unfortunately Sony didn’t agree, and numerous other actors have been attached to the role over the years.
But none of that matters now. Since Sony didn’t give the fans what they wanted, the fans themselves have done it instead. It’s just a short fan film sadly, but it is a live-action Uncharted movie starring Fillion as Drake. You can check it out below, if it hasn’t been pulled for some reason.

The latest attempt at turning the game franchise into a movie franchise was written by Joe Carnahan (Smokin’ Aces, The Grey), with Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum, Stranger Things) attached to direct and Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War) attached to star as Drake.
Also starring in the fan film is Stephen Lang (Avatar, Tombstone) as Sully, Geno Segers (Banshee, Brawl in Cell Block 99) as Diego, Mircea Monroe (Episodes, Hart of Dixie) as Elena, and Ernie Reyes Jr. (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, The Rundown) as El Tigre.
It was directed by Allan Ungar (Tapped Out, Gridlocked) and written by Jesse Wheeler (Powder and Gold) and Ungar.
