We’ve seen some good trailers and gameplay for Vampyr, the upcoming vampire action-RPG from developer DONTNOD Entertainment.
Over the past handful of weeks, a series of new videos have been released looking at various aspects of the game. The first video looks at the character you play as, a doctor named Jonathan Reid who is newly turned into a vampire, as well as some of the monsters created for the game. The second video looks at some of the locations you visit in London, and also the music of the game. The third focuses on the approach to making significant NPCs, and how they and the story can be impacted when you choose to feed on one of them—which is not only important to the character as a vampire, but important to you the player as it’s how you gain XP. Finally, the fourth video explores what makes video games a unique storytelling medium.
You can check out all of the new Vampyr videos below.

Adam Green‘s Hatchet series was thought over, the trilogy completed in 2013. Last summer, celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the series Green surprised fans with Victor Crowley, the 4th film in the franchise once again starring horror icon Kane Hodder as the titular monster and Parry Shen as the unlikely hero. The film was released on Blu-Ray/DVD and VOD this week and if you are a fan of this franchise, you will not be disappointed. Victor Crowley retains all the tenets of classic Hatchet; amazing practical effects, spectacular guts and gore kills, and a tongue in cheek sense of humor, with tons of in jokes and references for gorehounds and horror geeks to scream about.

Last year, Disney made a monumental move when they acquired FOX for a mere $52 billion. The mouse would be taking all of FOX’s film and TV assets, leaving the studio only with its sports and news. In fact, FOX has already been making the necessary moves to fill some of the void that will be left when the acquisition goes through by making a deal with the NFL to be the host network for Thursday Night Football.
However, it looks like the deal that was supposed to bring in Marvel and the original X-Men trilogy into the Disney fold may not be happening. This according to new reports that say Comcast is still interested in acquiring FOX. More on the story below.
