A Definitive Ranking Of The ‘Friday The 13th’ Franchise

Friday The 13th Film ranking

The stars of horror aligned and today is Friday the 13th… in October. While Michael Myers owns the month, this is Jason Voorhees’ day. The Friday the 13th franchise goes back to 1980, when Sean S. Cunningham directed the original as a slasher ripoff of John Carpenter’s Halloween. Jason made his debut at the very end in one of horror’s legit greatest jump scares. His legend grew instantly, and by decade’s end, he was 8 (!) films deep. Now nearly 40 years later, the franchise has produced 10 films, 1 crossover, 1 remake, and a short-lived TV series”¦ and damned if that doesn’t add up to 13! So in honor of Friday the 13th, we’re going to rank them from worst to first. Harry Manfredini “¦ HIT THE MUSIC!

Warning! Spoilers below for Sunday night’s episode of Outlander!

Last week on Outlander, Roger (Richard Rankin) and Brianna (Sophie Skelton) grew closer as the trail to Jamie grew hotter then hit a dead end. Claire (Caitriona Balfe) gave up and went back to Boston, a sad Brianna in tow. In the past, Jamie went to work for the Dunsany family where the youngest daughter blackmailed him into taking her virginity before she married an old man. It was eventually found out and Jamie (Sam Heughan) saved the baby, his baby, from being killed by the crazed old man. He stayed on to be near the boy, leaving only when the resemblance could no longer be hidden. He asked Lord John Grey (David Berry) to take care of his boy, who considered it an honor, and went back home to Lallybroch.

Spoilers below.

Interview With Ray Santiago of Ash vs Evil Dead

On Saturday, Ash vs Evil Dead took over New York Comic-Con, where the cast appeared at the Hammerstein Ballroom for a panel. Stars Bruce Campbell, Dana DeLorenzo, Ray Santiago, Arielle Carver-O’Neill, and Lindsay Farris treated fans to a special sneak peek of the season 3 premiere and more, before signing autographs and taking photos with fans back at the main convention center. I was able to join a press roundtable with the cast members, where they talked the series and their experiences on the upcoming season.

Ray Santiago returned home to the big city for NYCC. A Bronx native, Santiago graduated from Fiorello LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts aka “The FAME School” in 2002 and has been acting ever since. As Pablo Simon Bolivar on AvED, he follows his “jefe” Ash through thick and thin. Last season was a long and brutal one for Pablo. First he was possessed by the Necronomicon, then he was slashed in half by the demon Baal. Thankfully resurrected for season 3, Ray Santiago sat down to talk about the upcoming season and the torture his character has gone through.

Extinction

A gameplay trailer was released recently for Extinction, which sees you going head to head with some massive ogre monsters.

The game, which is developed by Iron Galaxy and published by Maximum Games, is a third-person hack and slash in which you, while tiny compared to your ogre enemies, are able to move quickly and freely around the environment to help you in bringing them down.

You can read more about Extinction and watch the gameplay trailer below, along with a bonus gameplay walkthrough from E3 2017 we weren’t able to get to at the time.

NYCC 2017: Ash vs Evil Dead interview with Dana DeLorenzo

This past weekend, Ash vs Evil Dead took over New York Comic-Con, holding their panel at the Hammerstein Ballroom, where series stars Bruce Campbell, Dana DeLorenzo, Ray Santiago, Arielle Carver-O’Neill, and Lindsay Farris treated fans to a special sneak peek of the season 3 premiere and conducted a panel discussion and Q&A, before greeting fans at the Javits Convention Center for autographs and photos. I had the chance to join over members of the press to speak with the cast members of the series about their experiences on the upcoming season.

Dana DeLorenzo stars as Kelly Maxwell, my choice for most badass woman on TV. She can stand toe to toe with Ash Williams and match him insult for insult and one liner for one liner; and she loves nothing more than shooting deadites. We sat down with the Youngstown, Ohio native to talk about the upcoming season. When she sat down at the table, she warned us about her penchant for rambling on, slamming the table and talking loud, all things we were perfectly fine with her doing.
