| Watch: Exclusive Clip From Doc Series ‘Plastic Movies Rewound: The Story Of The ’80s Video Boom’ |

It’s remarkable that we live in a world in which there’s countless movies and TV shows available to watch at the simple click of a button. It’s also exciting to see movies looking better than ever on Blu-ray and now 4K Ultra HD. But for some people, myself included, nothing will ever replace the joy of going to the neighborhood video store, walking past rows and rows of VHS covers, and choosing a few to take home, crack open, and pop in the old VCR. If you’re one of those people, you might just be interested in Plastic Movies Rewound: The Story of the ’80s Video Boom—though be warned: there’s a dark, shady area beneath all of those happy memories you have…something this documentary series explores. Plastic Movies Rewound dives deep into the history of the days of Betamax, VHS, video stores, and much more. “You had my curiosity, but now you have my attention.” That Leonardo DiCaprio quote could be applied to the Joker origins film we found out about recently. But now comes word that Warner Bros. is actually looking at DiCaprio to potentially fill the lead role. Considering that Martin Scorsese is producing, and the actor has appeared in five of his films, this couldn’t be a more perfect pairing. More on the story below.

| ’78/52′: Official Trailer For Documentary All About Alfred Hitchcock’s ‘Psycho’ Shower Scene
If you ever needed more proof of just how important director Alfred Hitchcock is to filmmaking and film history, somebody made an entire documentary dedicated solely to one single scene from one of his movies. It also happens to be one of the most renowned scenes ever filmed. I’m talking of course about the shower scene from Hitchcock’s 1960 horror classic, Psycho. The title of the doc, 78/52, refers to the 78 camera shots and 52 edits that went into crafting the scene. It was directed by Alexandre O. Philippe, and includes Guillermo del Toro, Bret Easton Ellis, Jamie Lee Curtis, Eli Roth, Peter Bogdanovich, and others dissecting and discussing the unforgettable sequence. A new trailer for the movie has been released, and you can check it out below along with a previously released trailer which involves the brutal stabbing of a bunch of fruit.
