| ‘Game Of Thrones’ Fan Art Tackles Powerful ‘A Storm of Swords’ Battle |
|
Spoiler Alert! Spoiler Alert! Read no further if you watch the HBO series Game of Thrones but have not yet read the books. One of the greatest chapters from George R.R. Martin’s A Storm Of Swords has been rendered into sequential art, but the scene probably won’t be seen on the television series until Season 4. I will not be held responsible if you fail to heed my warning! There, with that out of the way, let me say this A Storm of Swords fan art, by comic artist Jeff McComsey, is amazingly well done. Detailing the duel between Oberyn Martell, Prince of Dorne, called the Red Viper, and Gregor Clegane, nicknamed the Mountain because of his gargantuan size….it appears to be a very uneven fight from the start. I won’t get into too many details but the point is that Prince Oberyn volunteered to fight this massive warrior for personal reasons. Though both of these men are champions for another, they enter the battlefield with the express intention of killing their opponent in this trial by arms.

| HBO Officially Greenlights Season 4 Of ‘Game Of Thrones’ |
|
Anyone who’s been keeping close tabs on Game of Thrones, HBO’s ultra popular fantasy drama based on author George R.R. Martin‘s “A Song of Ice and Fire” book series, likely is aware that each season of the show thus far has been based on one full book in the series. Those same people also might be aware that book three in the series, A Storm of Swords, is so massive and so packed with action that season three of the show, which just kicked off this past Sunday, only covers half of the book. Because of all of this, it was widely assumed that a season four of the show was already guaranteed, despite no official announcements from HBO. We heard a rumor a while back that the network might have been considering filming seasons three and four back-to-back, and then there was another rumor recently that the next season had already been ordered. So it will come as no surprise that after one episode of season three, HBO has officially announced season four.

| Has HBO Already Greenlighted ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 4?
When it comes to HBO greenlighting new seasons of their shows, an announcement doesn’t usually come until the current season gets going and the network can see how the numbers are looking. This also goes for Game of Thrones, especially given the show’s massive budget. That said, everyone has assumed that a season four of the show based on George R.R. Martin‘s “A Song of Ice and Fire” book series has been locked in for a while now, despite no official confirmation yet. This is because not only is it one of the most popular series on TV, but because season three—which premieres on March 31st—only covers half of the massive third book in the series, A Storm of Swords, while the first two seasons covered the first two books in their entirety. Now, according to one of the actors on the show, it’s looking more and more likely that the waiting is just procedure.

| ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 3 Episodes To Be A Little Longer
The worst thing about HBO’s Game of Thrones—and it may be the only negative about the show—is that as we make our way through a season, we begin to dread that 10th episode, knowing full well that that’s where it ends for the year, instead of the usual 12th episode. Season 3 of the series will be doubly painful, as it will be based on author George R.R. Martin‘s biggest book in the “Song of Ice and Fire” series, A Storm of Swords. That means instead of the season being focused on one entire book, this one will only be covering the first half of the book, leaving us to wait another year just to finish this book’s stories. But on the bright side of life, that means at least one more season than there are Martin books, if we’re fortunate enough to get them all covered by HBO. And now comes word that episodes this season will be longer!
