| Adam Sandler Signs Four-Movie Deal With Netflix
Streaming movie and TV series service Netflix appears to be ready for a fight with movie theaters. They already have multiple hit original series, but recently their first original movie—a sequel to Ang Lee’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon—was announced with plans to debut the movie on Netflix with some IMAX-only screenings in theaters. | Geek Peek: First Look At ‘Pixels’ Stars Adam Sandler, Peter Dinklage, Josh Gad, Michelle Monaghan
The first official image from the upcoming movie Pixels has been released, featuring stars Adam Sandler, Peter Dinklage, Josh Gad, and Michelle Monaghan. The movie is based on the hit short film of the same name, which sees classic arcade games invading a city. In the movie, aliens mistake a satellite feed of these classic arcade games as a declaration of war, and invade our planet using mimicry of the games and their strategies. This leads the U.S. president (played by Kevin James) to turn to three of his childhood friends, former arcade game prodigies who haven’t amounted to anything in their adults years, one being a TV mechanic (Sandler), one being a felon (Dinklage), and one being a conspiracy theorist (Gad). Monaghan plays a weapons expert who helps the trio. Basically, that episode of Futurama. You can check out the first image from Pixels below.
