An announcement trailer has been released for an upcoming game titled Affliction from Mastermind Games. The game is described as an “open world narrative, action adventure game where you solve the mystery of a small 1950s town.” As a total sucker for games set in past time periods, that’s pretty much all I need to be won over. If you’re a bit harder to win over, however, there’s plenty more to take in.
Some gamers consider what’s known as “walking simulators”—narrative-driven games that focus on exploring the game world and piecing together the story, as opposed to more involved combat-heavy gameplay for example—to be too boring. I personally enjoy these types of games, so long as the world and story maintain my attention; but for those of you who need more engaging action, Affliction aims to find that sweet spot.
You can watch the trailer and read much more about the game and its story below.
