Daniel Radcliffe Horns movie

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe made his San Diego Comic-Con debut today at the convention center’s massive Hall H auditorium for the panel for his upcoming film, Horns, based on the Joe Hill novel. Attendees got to see the U.S. premiere of the trailer, as well as a clip from the movie (footage description here below).

Radcliffe turned 25 two days ago, so the huge crowd sang “Happy Birthday” to him. He was joined on the panel with Joe Hill and director Alexandre Aja, who Radcliffe said weaved the horror and humor elements from the book perfectly for the film.

In the movie, Radcliffe plays Ig, who is accused of raping and killing his girlfriend, Mary (played by Juno Temple). While he’s facing the hatred from his fellow townspeople, who believe he’s guilty regardless of the evidence, Ig one day wakes up with a pair of horns on his head. The horns compel anyone Ig encounters to tell the truth and act on their impulses. As the story continues, Ig struggles to find Mary’s real killer and his character begins to change as well.

Daniel Radcliffe Horns Header Image

About a year ago we saw the first image from a new movie titled Horns, in which Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe fittingly sported an impressive set of horns on his head. The movie is currently making the festival rounds in search of a distributor, and the first official clip from the movie has been released.

Horns is based on the novel of the same name from author and comic writer Joe Hill, telling the story of Ignatius Perrish (Radcliffe), the only suspect in the rape and murder of his girlfriend. Never charged, tried, or officially cleared, Ig is looked at through angry eyes from everyone around him, but he’s determined to find whoever is really responsible for the vicious crime and get revenge using the powers of his unexpected new horns.

You can see the first clip from Horns below.

“Please don’t scream, you’re so beautiful.”

Psycho meets Drive in Maniac, Franck Khalfoun‘s remake of William Lustig’s 1980 horror film of the same name.

In this art-house slasher flick, Frank Zito (Elijah Wood) is a lonely schizophrenic who spends his nights prowling the streets of Los Angeles, stalking and murdering young women.

When he isn’t painstakingly restoring vintage mannequins, Frank is a professional serial killer. He scalps women and takes their scalps and clothing back to his dimly-lit abode, where he decorates his life-sized dolls as fucked-up trophies.

Once a mannequin has been gussied up to his satisfaction, Frank sleeps with his new girlfriend for several nights, using her to carry on one-sided conversations with his deceased mother, Angela (America Olivo), a rather negligent prostitute who subjected him to years of psychosexual abuse.

Manaic

The first trailer for Franck Khalfoun‘s Maniac showed just how dark and sadistic Elijah Wood can get. The film is a remake of the 1980s version of the same name, but this time features the kills from the character’s point of view. In the film, Wood plays a psychopathic killer who takes the scalps of his victims and attaches them to the mannequins he creates. Check out the trailer below.

Once again, this trailer is very brutal and very bloody, so if you are not comfortable with graphic depictions of violence and nudity, I suggest you turn back now. Otherwise, enjoy the trailer.
