The finale ends an already strong season with a double banger of monster goodness, with “Skincrawlers” and “By the Silver Water of Lake Champlain.” The latter was directed by make-up effects guru Tom Savini, who helped Nicotero break into the horror business years ago and who worked on the original 1982 film from George A. Romero and Stephen King.

BookCon 2019: ‘NOS4A2’ This Way to Christmasland Experience

BookCon is an annual event that brings fans together with their favorite authors and works of literature. This year’s event just finished up at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City, where one of the big focuses was on the upcoming AMC series NOS4A2, based on the 2013 novel by Joe Hill.
Hill, the son of Stephen King, has published multiple bestsellers in the genre his dad helped reinvent. He was at the Con on Saturday night for a panel and Q&A alongside NOS4A2’s showrunner Jami O’Brien. ‘Creepshow’ TV Series: Adrienne Barbeau, Giancarlo Esposito, and Tobin Bell Join Cast

For anyone who’s not already aware, a TV series based on Stephen King and George A. Romero‘s 1982 horror anthology Creepshow is coming to Shudder. The movie featured a variety of terrifying tales, as well as a great cast including the late great Leslie Nielsen, four-time Academy Award nominee Ed Harris, fellow Oscar nominee Hal Holbrook, Viveca Lindfors, Ted Danson, and even King himself as a memorable lunkhead. It was also followed by a solid sequel in 1987.
Someone else who starred in the original is Adrienne Barbeau (Escape from New York, The Fog, Swamp Thing), appearing in the segment “The Crate.” And as it turns out, her time with Creepshow is not over yet. 37 years after starring in the original, she’s joined the cast of the TV series along with Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, The Jungle Book, Better Call Saul) and Tobin Bell (Saw, The Firm, Jigsaw).

Series Based On Joe Hill, Gabriel RodrÃguez’s ‘Locke & Key’ Finds New Home At Netflix

Last year it looked like a TV series adaptation of Joe Hill and Gabriel RodrÃguez‘s comic book series Locke & Key was finally going to happen, with Hulu ordering a pilot episode and Doctor Strange and Sinister director Scott Derrickson set to helm that episode. Derrickson eventually dropped out due to scheduling issues and IT and Mama director Andy Muschietti stepped in.
For whatever reasons, Hulu made the surprising decision to pass on the series. The second time that a series based on the comic looked like it was happening and then didn’t. The other being on Fox years ago. But thankfully fans didn’t have to wait nearly as long this time for the show to find a new home. It’s been announced that Netflix has picked up the show. And they’re skipping that pesky pilot episode step and jumping straight to a full-series order.
