As a lifelong fan of horror anthologies from the original Creepshow films (1982 and 1987) to Tales from the Crypt and Trick “˜r Treat, this original series had me super excited, and I’m happy to say it did not disappoint. Coming full circle on his amazing career, Greg Nicotero acts as executive producer of the streaming series and directed the first story of the pilot episode. Each of the eight episodes consists of two horror shorts. This Creepshow pays homage to the original while adding some new flair for an overall fun and creepy horror experience. | ‘Creepshow’ TV Series: Adrienne Barbeau, Giancarlo Esposito, and Tobin Bell Join Cast
For anyone who’s not already aware, a TV series based on Stephen King and George A. Romero‘s 1982 horror anthology Creepshow is coming to Shudder. The movie featured a variety of terrifying tales, as well as a great cast including the late great Leslie Nielsen, four-time Academy Award nominee Ed Harris, fellow Oscar nominee Hal Holbrook, Viveca Lindfors, Ted Danson, and even King himself as a memorable lunkhead. Someone else who starred in the original is Adrienne Barbeau (Escape from New York, The Fog, Swamp Thing), appearing in the segment “The Crate.” And as it turns out, her time with Creepshow is not over yet. 37 years after starring in the original, she’s joined the cast of the TV series along with Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad, The Jungle Book, Better Call Saul) and Tobin Bell (Saw, The Firm, Jigsaw).
