Even six years after its release, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Frozen never stopped being a magical phenomenon as it continued on to thrive with its animated short Frozen Fever and its made-for-TV special Olaf’s Frozen Adventure. While both were fun expansions on the franchise, they weren’t really the deep dives into the original film’s characters or mythology that we would expect to see. Though Frozen 2 is not as narratively strong as the first, it is a rare Disney-animated musical sequel that is still a force to be reckoned with because of its emphasis on character development and continuing to echo the themes of female empowerment, while pushing the boundaries in its music and visuals. My full review of Frozen 2 here below.

The Academy Award-nominated Ralph Breaks the Internet is now available for you to own. Disney’s latest sequel brings back those lovable digital misfits for an all-new adventure that takes Ralph (John C. Reilly) and Vanellope (Sarah Silverman) on an all-new adventure across the digital space. This very fun sequel comes with a number of equally fun, but very standard, bonus features. However, they may be of interest to those who love a deep dive into the animation and story process. These features take a look at all of those layers and how each team must work in tandem to make sure everything fits together nicely. Check out a mini film review plus a review of all the bonus features below.

Wreck-It Ralph saw Ralph (John C. Reilly) and Vanellope von Schweetz (Sarah Silverman) as a pair of lovable arcade sprite misfits in an animated film about acceptance, identity, and self-worth. The film is that perfect blend of humor and heart supported by terrific animation and video game nostalgia. It’s been six years since we last saw the two in a film whose ending seemed perfect. Now we are getting a sequel. Don’t worry, it’s not about Ralph and Vanellope causing trouble in the arcade. No, this time the two go to the Internet in Ralph Breaks the Internet, a play on the very popular phrase when something goes viral. While not as strong as the first, the film goes far beyond humoring with all too easy Internet tropes and gags.
There’s plenty of emotional depth and some surprises that will have you wanting more. However, the pacing and editing are just some of the issues that slow things down. But it’s not enough to ruin what is a fun sequel. Check out my full review below.

‘Ralph Breaks The Internet’ Clip Introduces KnowsMore Voiced By Alan Tudyk

There are only a few more weeks left until Disney releases Ralph Breaks the Internet, the sequel to Wreck-It Ralph. The film will see the return of Ralph (John C. Reilly) and Vanellope von Schweetz (Sarah Silverman), two arcade sprites who venture to the Internet in search of a replacement part for Sugar Rush, Vanellope’s game.
Along the way they will run into technological advancements they’ve never seen before like social media, algorithms, and the dreaded auto fill search bar. Disney has released a brand new clip featuring the two running into KnowsMore, a bit of an outdated version of the auto fill. Think AskJeeves. Additionally, there is a Happy Birthday Internet video for this Internet Day. Check them both out below.

It’s time to scare it up, my fellow geeks! Monsters University sees its home release, and surprisingly, the Blu-ray edition of Pixar’s latest feature is wicked good. Explore Monsters University with me, shall we?
James P. Sullivan (John Goodman) and Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) may have given the impression they were always best buddies in Monsters, Inc., but Monsters University proves just the opposite. Travel back in time with Sulley and Mikey to their young adulthood, when Sulley’s pomposity and Mike’s unabashed idealism contrasted with their older personalities. Mike craves to scare for a living, despite his less-than-menacing appearance, and must prove to naysayers that he belongs at the Scare School. He works ceaselessly to understand ways to haunt and chill. Sulley, on the other hand, thinks his family name and reputation will lead him on a road to success, but his egotism impairs his image and potential. The two must collaborate with the non-impressive Oozma Kappa fraternity to save their spots in the Scare School.
