The DCEU is undergoing a rebrand in the wake of Justice League‘s flop. And directors are taking note of distancing themselves from the film with stories that serve the characters rather than lead up to the ensemble event.

Geek Peek: First Look At ‘Aquaman’ Will Make You Want To Hit The Gym

One of the biggest problems for Justice League was introducing three new heroes to the DC superhero universe. This did not give much room for any narrative or exposition as the ensemble film had to squeeze out time to give some origin stories to The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg. ‘Expendables’ Star Dolph Lundgren Joins ‘Aquaman’ Cast

The Expendables star Dolph Lundgren is the latest to join the cast of Aquaman, Warner Brothers’ upcoming solo adventure for the title character, played by Jason Momoa, following a brief cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and a more prominent role in the ensemble movie, Justice League, which arrives in theaters later this year.
