On AMC’s Breaking Bad, which is in its fifth and final season, Walter White (Bryan Cranston) is a mild-mannered cancer-stricken chemistry teacher turned crystal meth cooker drug kingpin who’s currently engaged in a battle of wills with his DEA Agent brother-in-law Hank (Dean Norris). What the outcome of this face-off will be at the series finale is anybody’s guess, but one thing’s for sure: Hank is the one person right now who can bring about Walt’s downfall.
In the recent episode “Buried,” Walt’s lawyer Saul (Bob Odenkirk) suggests that maybe his client should take care of the situation by sending Hank “on a trip to Belize,” similar to how Walt supposedly “took care” of his former associate Mike.
Interestingly enough, the Belize Tourism Board took notice to this reference to their homeland, and instead of expressing outrage at the euphemism, they’ve embraced it by offering the showrunners of Breaking Bad a free trip to the Central American country.
