BioShock

In every video game you can only go where the game lets you go. Even the biggest open world games have areas that you can’t reach and explore. And in most cases, those areas don’t have anything worth seeing. But as it turns out, sometimes there’s interesting stuff hiding.

My favorite recent internet discovery is the video series “Boundary Break” from YouTube user Shesez. The videos explore these areas in various video games by basically detaching the camera and taking it wherever they want, giving fans a peek at some of the hidden things you could never discover for yourself while playing.

One of the most recent videos explores the unreachable areas of the classic BioShock, and finds some pretty darn cool (and sometimes funny) little secrets. You can watch the video below.

Negan's Bat Lucille

Some people are content simply purchasing whatever is available for who or what they want to be for Halloween. More crafty folks, such as cosplayers, might prefer taking the long road and building their costumes and props from scratch.

YouTube series DIY Prop Shop has been doing some great videos recently, perfect for this time of year. They offer tutorials on how to build replicas of Negan’s bat Lucille from The Walking Dead, Ash’s chainsaw hand from the Evil Dead movies and TV show, and an ADAM syringe from BioShock.

Learn how to make your very own replicas of these props in the videos below.

Red Dead Redemption - Westworld

If you’re among the many that have been watching HBO’s latest hit Westworld you might be surprised to learn that a few big names from the realms of video games were actually an inspiration in creating the series.

In a recent interview with creators and showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, Nolan revealed that games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Red Dead Redemption, BioShock, and the games of BioWare (best known for the Mass Effect series) were among the things that inspired them while developing Westworld.

You can read Nolan’s full quote below.

BioShock: The Collection Remastered

While seeing new games announced and shown off is the biggest thing most gamers were looking forward to coming out of E3 2016, some were hoping to hear word of some remastered releases. Two of the big ones that jump to mind fans really want to see polished up and re-released are the Mass Effect trilogy and the BioShock trilogy.

Sadly, neither of those was announced during E3. We did, however, get a small new peek at the next Mass Effect game, Andromeda. And as for a new game in the BioShock series, while we do know 2K plans to make one eventually, we don’t know for sure if it’s even being worked on yet.

But never fear! It’s been a couple of weeks since E3 now, and 2K has officially announced BioShock: The Collection, the remastered re-release of the original game, BioShock 2, and BioShock Infinite along with DLC. You can read more about it and see a trailer below.
