Brooklyn Nine-Nine 2.17 “Boyle-Linetti Wedding“ delivers once again, squeezing laughs out of every possible second. Charles (Joe LoTruglio) and Gina will now be step-brother and step-sister, as her mom (Sandra Bernhard) and his dad (Stephen Root) are finally tying the knot. I could end the review right there, but they also manage to put a fresh twist on the classic comedic plot, the-wedding-needs-to-be-perfect-so-everything-almost-goes-wrong!

Fox has announced early renewals for three of their current television series.

Gotham, the Batman crime drama centering on James Gordon, has been renewed for a second season, while the Andy Samberg comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine will be back for a season three.

Though currently only 2 episodes in, Fox has already put in for a second season of their new show, Empire, the Lee Daniels-created hip-hop drama starring Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson.

We had to suffer an entire 21 days without the FOX television series during the holiday hiatus, but it was worth the wait. A few spoilers as we catch up on where we last left off with the 99 gang….

A smidge of spoilers from season 1 before we get to Season 2 Episode 2.10:

Doug Judy (Craig Robinson) is back on Brooklyn Nine-Nine for Episode 2.10 “The Pontiac Bandit Returns”! We last saw Doug Judy in Episode 1.12 “Pontiac Bandit” as a perp of interest in a car thief case – a car thief that Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) has been chasing for eight years. We fell in love with him as he Keyser Soze’d detectives Peralta and Rosa Diaz (Stephanie Diaz), and rode off into the sunset, after the three displayed some of the best character chemistry in a comedy ever seen.

In Episode 2.10, they catch Peralta’s nemesis finally, but he has some pertinent info on the drug kingpin of the Giggle Pig case, the case that holds the entire fate of the 78th precinct in its hands. Forced to be together for a while, the three have lost none of their zest, complete with love songs (Reunited, and it feels so good….), bathrobes, lobster, and the promise of kisses from Diaz to Judy.
