Buckcherry

LA’s hard rockin’, hard partyin’ heroes Buckcherry have survived more band and personal problems than most. Lead singer Josh Todd has lived through them all and barely survived to tell his tales.

Thankfully, though, he has and his band is back with arguably the album of their career. Confessions contains a lifetime of those stories and thoughts based loosely around the seven deadly sins and tied up with Todd’s personal demons. Read the Geeks of Doom review HERE.

Fresh from successful support and headline shows, Josh Todd and Buckcherry are ready for the summer festival season and the chance to share their Confessions with the world.

Buckcherry‘s lastest album, Confessions, was released this week by Century Media Records as a Deluxe CD, CD, and MP3 Download (the latter format is on sale right now for only $5). To coincide with the release, the album is also streaming online for free in full over via AOL’s Noisecreep.

You can listen to Confessions here below as well as watch the video for their first single “Gluttony.” Also be sure to check out our review of the album, which is the band’s sixth studio effort and first U.S. release with Century Media Records.

The Los Angeles rock band — which consists of Josh Todd (vocals), Keith Nelson (guitar), Stevie D. (guitar), Jimmy Ashhurst (bass), Xavier Muriel (drums) — is currently out supporting Kid Rock as special guests on the Rebel Soul tour through April 6. Additional worldwide tour plans are in the works, which will be announced soon; there will also be three headline shows in their hometown at the famed Viper Room in West Hollywood on March 7, 8, and 9. (A limited number of tickets are still available at viperroom.com.)

Buckcherry: ConfessionsConfessions
Buckcherry
Deluxe CD | CD | MP3
Century Media
Release Date: February 19, 2013

Buckcherry is special for a lot of reasons, but the main reason of note is that they’re one of the very few modern bands that have really captured that great sleazy 80’s-era L.A. sound made so popular by bands like Guns n’ Roses and LA Guns. They aren’t putting on an homage to the era and style of music; they’re simply one of those bands.

The band has gone through lineup changes after breaking up completely back in 2002, but Josh Todd on vocals and the neverending riffs of Keith Nelson have kept the band on track regardless of what other changes happened internally or externally as far as what’s popular musically. The band’s first three albums, Buckcherry, Timebomb, and 15, are near hard rock classics with two cuts from 15 (“Crazy Bitch,” “Sorry”) making that album the band’s most popular to date. Their fourth album, Black Butterfly wasn’t as strong as the previous releases and it made me wonder if they had run their course musically. The most popular song on that album, titled “Too Drunk,” was actually replaced with a Deep Purple cover when the album was re-issued. Then we got All Night Long, which was a return to form as far as album oriented music from the band goes. Most of the songs on the album, not just the singles, were great just like those first two albums.

‘KISS Kondoms’ Coming For Your Love Gun

KISSTime to put the “X in Sex” and explode with a “Sonic Boom” like the “God of Thunder” — the band KISS is releasing new KISS Kondoms for fans to stay safe when they’re taking their significant others for a “Rocket Ride.”

Apologies for the song title puns used here, but c’mon… this is KISS and it’s a story about Gene Simmons pimping out some condoms — I just couldn’t help myself.

The difference with this release of KISS Kondoms is that they have pictures on them, which is kind of odd when you think about where these things are going to end up when you’re done using them.
