Friday night at SDCC 2017 was the panel of Starz’s hit series, Outlander, awash with screaming fans, with gushing fangirl-turned-moderator, Jenna Dewan-Tatum (with an impressive resume herself). “But really, I am the biggest, hugest, Outlander fan! I love this show.” She then introduces EPs Ronald D. Moore and Maril Davis, author Diana Gabaldon, and stars Richard Rankin, Sophie Skelton, Tobias Menzies, Sam Heughan, and Caitriona Balfe. | Starz Announces ‘Outlander’ Season 3 Premiere Date (Photos)
Today, Starz revealed the return date for Outlander, their highly-acclaimed time-traveling romantic adventure, based on Diana Gabaldon‘s epic series. Starring the incredible trio of Sam Heughan as James Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser, Caitriona Balfe as his wife Claire Randall Fraser, and Tobias Menzies as HER husband (I know), Frank Randall, as well as their nemesis Black Jack Randall, the 3rd season will premiere Sunday, September 10th at 8:00pm ET. Air Date: Saturday, June 25th, 2016, 9:00pm Last week’s Outlander felt just like the sweeping epic novels, with author Diana Gabaldon wielding her pen as if inside the war. The group was attacked, and Jamie, Claire (Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe), and their small band had to find refuge in a chapel. Poor Rupert (Grant O’Rourke) got shot in the eye, but survived (unlike the novel). They were surrounded, but played the tried and true, “Help! I’m a hostage!” card thanks to Claire again, and were able to bargain for their lives. The craziest part was that the soldiers brought her to the Duke of Sandringham’s (Simon Callow) place for safety, where Mary (Rosie Day) was staying too. He planned to marry her off. The Duke tried to get Claire to send for Jamie to help them both escape, but it was a trap. Even worse was that it was the Duke who was behind the attack in France. The episode ended in a satisfying crunch, as birthmark guy got stabbed by Mary, and Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix) came in and sliced and diced the Duke. Vengeance was his. Spoiler below,
