Air Date: Sunday, September 17th, 2017, 9:00pm Warning! Spoilers below for Outlander! Last time on Outlander, we saw what happened at Culloden and to Claire (Caitriona Balfe) after she went back to the 1940s through the stones. Jamie and BlackJack Randall (Sam Heughan, Tobias Menzies) found each other amongst the battle din, and savagely slashed at each other until they both fell. When Jamie awoke, BlackJack was dead and the British were stabbing the men that were still alive. Jamie was rescued for a very brief time with some other survivors, but the British found them and started killing them one by one. When it was his turn and he gave his full name, the man in charge could not kill him. He was the brother of the boy Jamie spared, john Grey and it was a debt of honor. Although no one believed he would survive the journey, Jamie made it to Lallybroch and his family. Spoilers below.

Air Date: Saturday, June 25th, 2016, 9:00pm Last week’s Outlander felt just like the sweeping epic novels, with author Diana Gabaldon wielding her pen as if inside the war. The group was attacked, and Jamie, Claire (Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe), and their small band had to find refuge in a chapel. Poor Rupert (Grant O’Rourke) got shot in the eye, but survived (unlike the novel). They were surrounded, but played the tried and true, “Help! I’m a hostage!” card thanks to Claire again, and were able to bargain for their lives. The craziest part was that the soldiers brought her to the Duke of Sandringham’s (Simon Callow) place for safety, where Mary (Rosie Day) was staying too. He planned to marry her off. The Duke tried to get Claire to send for Jamie to help them both escape, but it was a trap. Even worse was that it was the Duke who was behind the attack in France. The episode ended in a satisfying crunch, as birthmark guy got stabbed by Mary, and Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix) came in and sliced and diced the Duke. Vengeance was his. Spoiler below,

Air Date: Saturday, May 28th, 2016, 9:00pm Last week on Outlander, our favorite couple were broken and lost to each other for a while, as Claire (Caitriona Balfe) lost baby “Faith,” and Jamie (Sam Heughan) rotted in the Bastille for dueling with Blackjack Randall (Tobias Menzies). She thought Jamie had betrayed her, but there was more to it than that. Randall had attacked Fergus (Romann Berrux) which made Jamie lose it. Claire went to King Louis (Lionel Lingelser) for Jamie’s freedom. He made her pass judgment between Master Raymond and the Comte St. Germain (Dominique Pinon and Stanley Weber). She tried to save both of them, even though the Comte admitted to trying to poison her, but Master Raymond slipped real poison in and the Comte died. The King also made Claire have sex with him as payment, but freed Jamie and arranged for them to be able to go back to Scotland. Jamie returned home, and now they both will go home to Scotland together. Spoilers below.

Air Date: Saturday, April 25th, 2015, 9:00pm Let’s recap last week’s Outlander, before we get to this week’s review. Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Geillis (Lotte Verbeek) were defendants at a witch trial, but were really not allowed to present a defense, to no one’s surprise. Ned Gowan (Bill Paterson) did try though. It got to a point where he told the women he could really only save Claire if she renounces Geillis. She refuses of course. Geillis says 1968 to Claire, reveals her smallpox vaccine scar to the crowd, and shouts to the mob that she is the witch. Claire was whipped until my hero, I mean her hero, Jaime (Sam Heughan) comes and saves her. I really hope Laoghaire (Nell Hudson) gets hers for arranging this in order to get Jaime for herself.
