Maestro Vader

As far as flash mobs go, you won’t find me personally crossing my fingers to see one break out…except of course if Star Wars baddie Darth Vader is leading the charge.

Students at Algonquin College recently, while stressing out about exams week, were surprised by the appearance of none other than the Sithian Dark Lord Vader himself, who used his Force Maestro skills to conduct the singing of “Carol of the Bells” by the Ottawa Regional Youth Choir. The idea was put together by the students studying television and broadcasting at the school, and Vader’s inclusion was a (very good) last-minute decision.

You can check out the video by clicking on over to the Dark Side now.

“I am Darth Vader. I am a Dark Lord of the Sith. I am death!”

I have long been a big fan of Star Wars, so when it comes to comic book chronicles from the Expanded Universe, I’m relatively easily pleased. However, Darth Vader and the Lost Command (set 19 years before the events of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope) excelled far beyond my expectations, and is an admirable entry into some of the more memorable Star Wars publications in several years.

As the heavy-breathing black-cloaked Sith lord came out to accept his award, he expressed his worry about Lucas, saying he could “digitally enhanced you in the DVD release.”

The Empire Strikes Back

Do you remember where you were when you first watched Star Wars sequel The Empire Strikes Back and experienced its big reveal at the end? Some of you likely do and many of you probably do not, but technology has come a long way and moments such as that can now be captured for all eternity.

Enter Faris, a four–year–old who recently saw the ending of Empire for the first time, captured on camera by his parents. After recording the reaction they sent the video to Harry Knowles over at AICN, who started a column that looks at we who grew up as geeks and kids today who are well on their way. The column is called “Raising Geeks.”

You can see the video of young Faris reacting to the end of The Empire Strikes Back by continuing on below now, and you can see more by heading to the source link.
