| Disney Announces Opening Date For ‘Star Tours: The Adventure Continues’ |

Disney has announced that Star Tours is coming back, and that the newly updated attraction will reopen May 20, 2011, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in at the Disney World theme park in Orlando, Florida. Star Tours is a motion simulator attraction based on the Star Wars universe created by George Lucas. It was first launched at Disneyland in 1987 as a creative collaboration between Disney Imagineers and George Lucas with Industrial Light and Magic.
The new version, retitled Star Tours: The Adventures Continue, will be based on a story set between Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. Anthony Daniels, James Earl Jones, and Peter Mayhew reprise their roles as C-3PO, Darth Vader, and Chewbacca, respectively, for the attraction.

| Geek Gear: ‘Star Wars’ Tattoo Shirt ‘Vader Inked’
The t-shirt deal of the day over at RIPT Apparel is the Star Wars-inspired “Vader Inked.” The tee, by artist free_agent08, went on sale at RIPT today, Friday, January 14, 2011, at midnight CST, and will continue for 24 hours from then, and once it’s over, it will not be sold on the site anymore. The design has everyone’s favorite baddie Darth Vader rendered as a traditional full-color flash tattoo with a banner on it that reads “May The Pigment Be With You.”

| Check It Out: ‘Star Wars’ Parody ‘Galactic Empire State of Mind’
The brilliant minds over at College Humor have done it again, this time with a Star Wars-themed music video parody of the song “Empire State of Mind” by the artist Jay-Z. Watch the video here below for “Galactic Empire State of Mind.” This video starts with the 20th Century Fox fanfare, then launches right into a rapping Darth Vader, as scenes from the original Star Wars trilogy play in the background. During the chorus there is an audio track of Vader breathing while we see Leia playing Max Reebo’s piano and her earphones are her famous swirl bun hair. This video not only jokes about the original trilogy, but it also pays tribute to it as well. One of the best jokes in this music video are the breakdancing Stormtroopers and Ewoks along with Rebel pilots. It also features the singing “Leia” character wearing the famous “slave” outfit from Return of the Jedi.

| Comics Preview: Star Wars: Darth Vader and the Lost Command #1 StarWars.com has posted a 5-page preview of the upcoming Dark Horse comic book miniseries Star Wars: Darth Vader and the Lost Command #1, written by Haden Blackman.
Click image here at right to see one of issue’s variant covers, which was done by artist Tsuneo Sanda and is one of twelve 25th anniversary covers. This 40-page full-color first issue, which centers around Star Wars villain Darth Vader, is available for pre-order now and will be released on January 26, 2011.

The tee, by artist Brinkerhoff, went on sale at RIPT today, Thursday, December 30, 2010, at midnight CST, and will continue for 24 hours from then, and once it’s over, it will not be sold on the site anymore. The t-shirt is available in men’s and women’s sizes in black for $10 each. Kids sizes are $15 (Boys, Girls, and Toddler, all black); Onesies are $18 (in black). You can also get the design on a Hoodie for $38 (in black in Men/Unisex sizes). The design is a mash-up of popular villains Darth Vader of Star Wars and Cobra Commander of GI JOE.
