| First Trailer For Disaster Movie ‘Geostorm’ Released
We’ve already seen most weather and natural disasters covered in one of Hollywood’s big disaster movies. So it was only a matter of time before someone made a disaster movie with ALL the disasters. Warner Brothers has released a teaser trailer for Geostorm, which is the feature directorial debut of Independence Day writer and producer Dean Devlin. The movie takes place in a time when natural disasters have gotten out of hand, causing the world’s leaders to create a technology that can control the weather. This, as you’ve probably figured out, goes horribly wrong. Starring is Gerard Butler, Jim Sturgess, Abbie Cornish, Alexandra Maria Lara, Daniel Wu, Andy Garcia and Ed Harris. | Liam Hemsworth May Join ‘Independence Day’ Sequel ‘ID Forever’
Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games Trilogy, The Expendables 2) is rumored to be in talks for a role in the Independence Day sequel, ID Forever. Directed by Ronald Emmerich, the film will pick up 20 years after the events of the first. Hemsworth joins Michael B. Jordan as actors who have reportedly been offered a role in the film. What role has been offered to Hemsworth is not yet known, and Fox has declined any comment on the report, according to The Wrap.

| Roland Emmerich To Direct New ‘Stargate’ For MGM, Warner Brothers
The Stargate franchise is ready for a return to the big screen with the announcement of a new re-imagining that’s being planned as a trilogy. MGM and Warner Brothers have reached a deal with Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin for the reboot, with Emmerich directing and Devlin producing. The duo was also behind the 1994 original Stargate, which starred Kurt Russell and James Spader, in the same roles.

| After ‘Independence Day 2’ Roland Emmerich Wants To Make A Rebooted ‘Stargate’ Trilogy
We’ve heard plenty about Roland Emmerich‘s work to make Independence Day 2 happen and trying to get Will Smith to return to star, but Emmerich is already looking beyond that. In a recent interview, the director talked about how he’d also like to reboot Stargate and make a new trilogy out of it. Stargate was originally co-created by Emmerich and Dean Devlin, who also worked with Roland on Godzilla, The Patriot, and the past and future Independence Day flicks. The first movie was released in 1994 starring Kurt Russell and James Spader. After the movie numerous TV series, video games, and an animated series followed.

| Dean Devlin Offers Status Update On ‘Independence Day’ SequelIf you stayed at home and watched TV during the 4th of July, there’s no doubt that you probably came across Roland Emmerich’s holiday sci-fi actioner Independence Day. Rumors of a sequel have always lingered but any news to update us on the subject has been scarce. While Dean Devlin (Flyboys, The Patriot) and Emmerich have been working on a script for the sequel for some time, they haven’t been officially greenlight for production. So while anxious fans await the day the sequel begins filming, Delvin spoke to The Hollywood Reporter to address the status of the film and how long it would take to get the Independence Day sequel into production.
