Big Hero 6 Baymax

In their movies, Disney loves to put in “Easter egg” references to their other films and for their 2014 CGI-animated feature Big Hero 6, which is based on the Marvel comic, the animators threw in several nods to their 2013 blockbuster hit Frozen.

Now, with Big Hero 6 coming to home video on February 24, 2015, the studio has released a clip from “Big Hero Secrets (Easter Egg),” one of the featurettes that will be exclusive to the Blu-ray Edition. The clip gives a few examples of the hidden Frozen references.

Frozen gingerbread display at the Walt Disney World Resort

Disney’s animated feature Frozen has taken the world by storm since its 2013 theatrical release, so it’s not surprising that the company is doing everything possible to populate the world with more Frozen. For example, there’s already plans for a new theatrical short, Frozen Fever; a Broadway musical; and a new attraction at Disney World’s Norway Pavilion at EPCOT to replace The Maelstrom.

The Frozen characters already have a huge presence at Disney World, and now, they’ve been incorporated into Disney World’s Contemporary Resort’s massive Gingerbread display. Check out the video here below that gives a behind-the-scenes look at the Frozen display, which is just one of many Gingerbread showcases throughout the Florida theme park.

Boston Bruins Players Dressed as Frozen Characters #1

As a lifelong Boston Bruins fan who’s been bleeding black and gold since the days of Cam Neely (better known to many of you as Sea Bass from Dumb and Dumber), it always makes me smile to see stuff like this.

The team makes a great effort to give back to the community, including visits to the kids being treated at Boston Children’s Hospital. For a recent visit, a group of players from the team dressed up as characters from Disney’s megahit Frozen to go along with the Halloween season.

You can see images of the players visiting the hospital below.

Disney In Depth: Can Pixar Regain Its Glory?

For 15 years, one computer-animation studio dominated Hollywood with 11 major hit films, earning awards a plenty and worldwide critical acclaim for its output. Then came Cars 2. And Brave. Lest we forget Monsters University (which I actually found entertaining) and an entire year (2014) with no feature films. Pixar was a powerhouse, but now its corporate owner (Disney) has an unbeatable animation studio of its own. The question we all continue to wonder is if Pixar can reclaim its title as an unstoppable force.

Disney In Depth previews the recent past and future of Pixar, hoping to determine if John Lasseter‘s computer-animation studio can finally be able to dismiss naysayers, once and for all, that its hit streak was a one-time experience.

Frozen Magic Kingdom Cinderella Castle Disney World

Since its 2013 release and subsequent smash success at the box office, Disney’s Frozen has had a presence in its Disney World theme park. There’s the “Anna and Elsa’s Royal Welcome” meet and greet with Queen Elsa and Princess Anna in EPCOT; the “For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration” singalong in Disney’s Hollywood Studios; the “Frozen Fireworks Spectacular” at the Magic Kingdom,” and much more, all of which has been met with great reception. So, it’s no surprise that Disney has plans to expand the world of Frozen further into their theme park.

Disney has announced plans for a Frozen attraction at the Norway Pavilion in the World Showcase portion of Disney World’s EPCOT park. Construction will begin soon to refurbish the current Maelstrom ride, which will close after October 5, 2014. The new Frozen attraction is said to bring guests to Arendelle, immersing them in moments and music from the film.
