| Fox Developing ‘Flash Gordon’ Movie Penned By ‘Star Trek 3’ Writers
It’s being reported that 20th Century Fox has acquired the movie rights to Flash Gordon, the popular pulp comic that was first created way back in 1934. The acquisition is a package deal that includes producer John Davis, who spent over a year trying to secure the rights after previous rights holders such as Universal, Sony, and Manderlay Pictures were unable to make the movie happen, and Star Trek 3 writers J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay working on the script.

| George Nolfi Signs On To Direct Social Media Thriller ‘XOXO’
The Adjustment Bureau director George Nolfi is set to make XOXO, a tense social media thriller that is said to be in the vein of Fatal Attraction. But that is just the tip of it all. Nolfi will be using a script written by Black Swan screenwriter Mark Heyman, and will receive some assistance from Darren Aronofsky, Michael London,, and Kelly Mullen. Ever since his career as governor of California came to a close Arnold Schwarzenegger has been working overtime getting his chiseled mug back into the world of action cinema. Last weekend he returned to theaters with an expanded role in The Expendables 2, but the Austrian Oak won’t be seen in a starring since making his comeback until next January when The Last Stand hits theaters. Here’s a first look at the movie via a newly released trailer. You can check it out here below. Schwarzenegger plays former Ray Owens, a former Los Angeles cop who has taken on the job of sheriff in a sleepy border town. When one of the biggest drug lords in the world (Eduardo Noriega) makes a spectacular escape from an FBI prisoner convoy and heads for Owens’ town at top speed with a hostage and a gang of ruthless thugs in town the sheriff must gather his meager forces and stop the drug lord from getting across the border and evading justice forever.

With The Avengers set for release a little over a month from now Marvel Studios has good reason to celebrate. A decade ago the idea of getting Earth’s mightiest heroes together in one movie was laughable given that the film rights to the various characters were owned by different Hollywood studios who weren’t exactly receptive to the idea of a collaboration that would force them to share the potential wealth with their Tinseltown rivals. It wasn’t until Marvel formed their own movie division and started financing blockbusters like Iron Man and Thor that the company could finally take control of their celluloid destiny.
