| WarnerMedia Reveals Launch Date and More Titles For HBO Max
WarnerMedia held a major press event yesterday to talk about their new streaming service HBO Max. We know that WB has made some major acquisitions in the past few months by buying the rights to shows like Friends and The Big Bang Theory for billions of dollars. But that was merely the beginning for the media giant. | Arrowverse’s Greg Berlanti To Develop ‘Green Lantern’ and ‘Strange Adventures’ For HBO Max
Fans of Greg Berlanti‘s Arrowverse should be especially excited by the news that is coming out of the HBO Max press event. The showrunner who is behind hit CW DC shows like Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, and Batwoman will now be working on two new DC shows that will be available for streaming exclusively on HBO Max. | Entire Studio Ghibli Slate To Be Streamed Exclusively On HBO Max
The entire streaming landscape is changing, quickly. Entertainment companies are trying to reclaim their rightful franchises so that they can stream it on their own services. NBC paid billions of dollars to rebuy the rights to The Office, and WB did the same so that Friends and The Big Bang Theory could be streamed on HBO Max, while Disney let the deal they had with Netflix expire so that they could get their content back so that it could be streamed on Disney+. And WB’s latest move only leaves fewer franchises left for mainstream streaming sites like Netflix. WB has acquired the streaming rights to all of the Studio Ghibli films, which will now be added to their HBO Max streaming services. More on the report below.
