| Spoiler Talk: Tim Burton’s ‘Alice In Wonderland’ |

I think its safe to say Alice In Wonderland had a pretty good weekend. Considering its shattering box office records left and right, you’ve probably seen Alice In Wonderland at this point, so why not join me for some spoiler talk!
Director and subject matter make for a perfect marriage in Tim Burton‘s version of the Lewis Carroll classic. Alice In Wonderland stars frequent Burton collaborator Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Defiance‘s Mia Wasikowska as Alice, Anne Hathaway as the White Queen, Helena Bonham-Carter as the Red Queen, and Crispin Glover as the Knave of Hearts. I thought Burton’s style fit in nicely with the world of Wonderland and I really enjoyed the performances by Wasikowska and Bonham-Carter. Sadly, I am starting to grow a bit tired of the Burton/Depp/Bonham-Carter collaboration. All their recent films feel very similar and I haven’t really seen a lot of growth from the trio. Do you think its about time Burton found new best friends? If you have seen Alice In Wonderland, then, it’s time for SPOILER TALK! Below are some of my spoiler-filled thoughts on the film, and as always, remember to leave your thoughts about the movie here below in the Comments section.

Alice in Wonderland 3D
Directed by Tim Burton
Starring Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter
Rated PG
Release date: March 5, 2010
Tim Burton has spent the bulk of his career adding films to his resume that should have made us all rejoice in the idea of seeing his version of Alice in Wonderland. His imaginative style had the potential to lend itself to a classic version of the Lewis Carroll books. Technology and animation has caught up to Carroll’s imagination which should have provided an open canvas to bring the cherished story to life. Even in the able hands of someone who should be able to pull it off, it turns out that isn’t such a good thing. Somewhere in the last few years filmmakers have become clouded with this notion that 3D is some kind of art form and it seems like every other movie is being converted to 3D, even ones that have no business being in the discussion. For the life of me I cannot figure out why they have yet to realize it is just a gimmick. There is no doubt Avatar changed our perception of what is possible but everybody else is light years behind the curve and until they figure it out, 3D will remain a joke that brings nothing to the table. Just because the glasses are a little cooler than they were 20 years ago doesn’t mean we should all hop back on the bandwagon. It went away before for a reason and it was brought back without really fixing the problem.

| The Decade List: The 59 Best Films Of The Past Ten Years – Chapter III |
 |
NOTE: For structural reasons and to ensure that this list is super-duper pretty at all times, we’ll be posting this same intro for all sections of The Decade List. If you’ve already read all of this, you can just head down to the continuation of our list!
Let’s just get it out of the way right off the ol’ bat: yes, we know it’s been a few months since we left the decade. Most folks undertook this heavy task pre-2010, but we decided that it would be a little bit better to let the new year settle in a bit before hitting you with something of this magnitude. So here we are, geeks: we’ve officially arrived in FUTURE *cue retro ’50s sci-fi music* and still we have no freakin’ flying cars yet. What’s the deal with that? While it is pretty exciting to be inside of the year 2010 — a year that always seemed unreachable to us mere mortals — we are also exiting another entire decade that leaves us staring at one majorly epic task. That task? To search, dig, locate, retrieve, organize, polish, and present the very best films of the past ten years! We must once again declare that this list is also simply opinion. You are are without doubt going to find movies here that you hate and do not think deserve to be included. You will surely think of movies that you think should not only be on here, but that should be at the very top of the list. There will even be some that I have not seen and thus, can not add. Even at this very moment, I sit, worrying and wondering if I’ve forgotten any that I would include; that’s just the way things fly when compiling something this massive. With all of that said, we invite you in to relax and check out Chapter III our list, The Decade List: The 59 Best Films of the Past Ten Years!

| Two New Trailers From Tim Burton’s ‘Alice In Wonderland’ |
 |

A brand new pair of trailers from Tim Burton‘s Alice in Wonderland have been released. One is simply a new trailer for us to enjoy, while the other is the first International trailer. The first trailer you can watch right here is absolutely the best that we’ve seen yet. It showcases a lot more character dialogue and what we can expect from the story. You’ll see a lot of really beautiful shots in it that almost look like living, breathing concept art pieces. Another thing to watch for is the shots of what looks like it will be a huge battle scene in the movie, giving it an almost Chronicles of Narnia feel. Below that, you can find the new International trailer, which is pretty much just the same exact trailer side for one major difference: at the beginning of the International trailer, they show Alice at home, being proposed to in front of a giant crowd of people at a fancy party being thrown. She asks for a moment and takes off, which leads to her falling down the rabbit hole. I’m not sure why this was added to the trailer, but there it is if you wish to see it. Click on over to the other side to watch the new Alice in Wonderland trailers!
