Following the release of the sneak peek for the trailer of Bryan Singer‘s X-Men: Days Of Future Past, Fox has released 12 new images from the film featuring the ensemble cast. The film finds a present-day Professor X (Patrick Stewart) and Magneto (Ian McKellen) sending Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) being sent back in time to 1973 to meet their past selves Professor X (James McAvoy), Magneto (Michael Fassbender), and the rest of the mutants from X-Men: First Class to stop Bolivar Trask (Peter Dinklage) and his Sentinels, robots designed to hunt and kill mutants. Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman) and his wife Grace (Maria Bello) are facing every parent’s worst nightmare. Their 6-year-old daughter Anna (Erin Gerasimovich) is missing, along with her best friend Joy (Kyla Drew Simmons). Minutes turn to hours – panic sets in. The families pray for the best, but prepare for the worst. After searching the surrounding woods, Dover’s son (Dylan Minnette) mentions he saw the girls playing near a creepy old RV that had been parked on their street. Heading the investigation, Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal) arrests its driver, Alex Jones (Paul Dano), a peculiar young man with the IQ of a 10-year-old. Due to a lack of evidence, Jones is released. A frantic Dover decides he has no choice but to take the law into his own hands. As Loki pursues other leads, Dover tracks down Jones and holds him captive. He brutalizes the seemingly innocent man in hopes of getting a confession – in hopes of finding the little girls – but Jones remains silent. The further Dover goes, the closer he comes to losing his own humanity.

Mangold’s film begins with a bearded, long-haired Logan living in the Alaskan wilderness. He’s tracked by Yukio (Rila Fukushima) and summoned to Japan, where her dying employer, Yashida (Hal Yamanouchi), wishes to say good-bye to an old friend.

| SDCC 2013: ‘The Wolverine’ Panel With Hugh Jackman
Director James Mangold was on stage at San Diego Comic-Con to talk about The Wolverine, starring Hugh Jackman as the title character. The director described the film as a tough guy movie that deals with where Logan comes from and where he’s going to. He said that they have amped up the action in the sequel, while finding a way to explore his personality. They then showed an extended clip of the movie that featured some of the most brutal scenes that have ever featured Wolverine. Wolverine was shown getting shot, stabbed, poisoned, and dishing out as much as he takes. Much of the footage had already been shown in the official trailer, but there was plenty of new stuff in this R-rated footage. Then they showed the footage again for good measure.
