
It’s being reported that Hulu is developing an original series adaptation of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, author Douglas Adams‘ classic sci-fi work and the novels that followed it.
The story follows an Englishman named Arthur Dent who finds himself going on adventures in space after aliens destroy Earth to make room for a galactic freeway. It actually began as a BBC radio comedy in 1978 before the first novel was published in 1979. It’s been adapted numerous times, including the 2005 movie starring Martin Freeman, Mos Def, Zooey Deschanel, Sam Rockwell, Bill Nighy, John Malkovich, Stephen Fry, and the late great Alan Rickman.
