| ‘The Wolverine’ Trailer: The Legendary Mutant Versus The Legendary Samuari
If there’s any movie superheros that needed some bolstering, it would be Wolverine. The first chapter in his origins story failed to live up to expectations, but James Mangold‘s upcoming The Wolverine will try to rebuild the legendary character’s name. We’ve already seen the first trailer, and this new trailer isn’t what you could call a typical trailer in sense; it was edited for those who attended Cinema Con, and although there is some familiar footage, there is a key scene in it that could make the film worth your while. Two key scenes in this trailer to focus on are the overwhelmingly amount of ninjas that nearly bring Wolverine to his knees, and the Silver Samurai tease that I’m sure we’ll get to see more of when another trailer comes out. Hit the jump to check it out.

| ‘The Wolverine’ Will Take Place After The Events Of ‘X-Men: The Last Stand’ |
 |

Film adaptations have a nasty habit of changing lore in the properties they are based on. Take for instance X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Originally Logan (Hugh Jackman) only had a healing ability, which is why he is able to live for so long. However, a metal bonding procedure allowed the mutant to have an indestructible skeleton and inadvertently gave Logan the ability to produce claws. Now the film adaptation said that he was born with the claws as opposed to having gained the ability to unleash claws at will. These kinds of changes, while small, have a huge impact on how fans perceive the character – remember how mad Spider-Man fans were when Sam Raimi didn’t include artificial webshooters? Now it appears that James Mangold‘s The Wolverine will return to Logan having these bone claws, but the film might not take place where you might think in the chronicles of the X-Men Cinematic Universe. While it’s confirmed that Logan will be in Japan, the film was thought to be a prequel. Check out a new photo and details on where in the X-Men timeline The Wolverine might take place here below.
