Geek Peek: First Look At Tom Hardy In ‘Venom’ (Image)
As far as first looks go, there is no way that a studio would ever make a huge reveal outright. The first photos are generally teasers to get fans and audiences interested but they are also nothing to get overly excited for. Still, it does let us know that said movie is coming, and that is true for Sony’s first Spider-Man spinoff Venom.
The first photo has just been revealed, and it’s of star Tom Hardy. But not as Venom, the black suit alien symbiote. But the down-on-his-luck investigative journalist who will eventually bond with the suit to become the anti-hero Spider-Man knows all too well. Check it out below.

Woody Harrelson In Talks To Join The Cast Of ‘Spider-Man’ Spinoff ‘Venom’
|
|
Sony’s first attempt to launch a Spider-Man universe was mocked and ridiculed for trying to keep up with the Marvel Cinematic Universe by squeezing in every single possible Easter Egg you can think of into one itty bitty film. So after that was a huge disaster, the studio decided to share the character with Marvel, effectively killing the Amazing Spider-Man universe. But in doing so, they were able to re-evaluate that same universe. However, there’s plenty of red tape that will not allow the Spider-Man characters Sony currently owns to play in the Marvel Studio sandbox.
So, with so many characters at their disposal, they are creating a Spider-Man less universe where all Spider-Man supporting characters can come play. As absurd as that sounds, it looks like they are drawing some major attention. Venom in particular, as it touts a cast that consists of Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, and Jenny Slate. And if that weren’t impressive enough, the Ruben Fleischer-directed film will be adding Woody Harrelson to the cast. Find out more on the story below.

It wasn’t that long ago when The LEGO Movie burst into movie theaters with a million of bricks and an equal amount of laughs. What looked liked a bad idea at first turned out to be interlocking blocks of bubble gum pop and child-like nostalgia. Its success would, of course, give way for sequels and spinoffs, because that’s how successful movies work nowadays. And now we are getting a taste of that with The LEGO Batman Movie.
Sure enough, The LEGO Batman Movie proves that its predecessor was no fluke. It continues the tradition of capturing the child-like imagination of playing with these building blocks to construct a manically energized spinoff full of hilarious Batman references and self-deprecating humor. But it is also a visual bubble gum pop joy that has a heartfelt message and crazy action that can be damn near exhausting.
But at the end of the day, The LEGO Batman Movie is a pure delight that even non-Batman fans will enjoy. Check out the full review below.

‘The LEGO Batman Movie’ Gotham Cribs Featurette Takes A Tour Of Batman’s Attic
We are one week away from the release of The LEGO Batman Movie, the spinoff to The LEGO Movie. Will Arnett returns to voice the Dark Knight Minifigure, who is profoundly dark and brooding. Michael Cera joins him as Robin, the Boy Wonder, while Rosario Dawson will voice Barbra Gordon, aka Batgirl.
Last week, we saw a video that took us behind the scenes of the making of the film. Now a new featurette gets into the bricks of things by taking us to the film’s setting, Gotham City – which is built by LEGO bricks, of course – for an episode of “Gotham Cribs.” Check out the video below.

‘The LEGO Batman Movie’ Featurette Feeds Title Character’s Brooding Ego
When we first saw The Batman (Will Arnett) in The LEGO Movie, he was a dark and brooding superhero who did not play well with others. Worst of all, he was playing second fiddle to a nobody. However, the Dark Knight Minifigure believes that he was the reason why The LEGO Movie was such a huge success. And because of that, he is convinced that the world is ready for The LEGO Batman Movie.
A new featurette titled “Behind The Bricks” brings us closer to the characters in the upcoming film. Unlike traditional featurettes, this one interviews the actual characters as Minifigures. Check it out here below.
