| John Lasseter Exiting Disney Animation and Pixar At End Of Year
This was the only possible good outcome of this situation. Earlier this year, John Lasseter took a leave of absence from Pixar after allegations of sexual misconduct became public. The once happy animator who was the head of Pixar and helped change Disney Animation Studios to what it is now had two choices: stay on and be a pariah or make a graceful exit. The latter was chosen. Reports confirm that Lasseter will be staying on at Pixar for the duration of the year. After that, he will no longer be working for the company that he helped build. More on the story here below.

| Rashida Jones Says She Did Not Depart From ‘Toy Story 4’ Because Of Pixar’s John Lasseter
Yesterday, Pixar CCO and Disney’s Head of Animation John Lasseter announced that he would be taking a six-month leave of absence due to allegations of inappropriate behavior towards female employees. While yesterday’s report came with horrifying details that support these allegations, it’s not clear how many victims there are. However, it did speculate that Toy Story 4 writer Rashida Jones left the project due to one of Lasseter’s unwanted advances. | Pixar Head John Lasseter To Take A Leave Of Absence After Taking “Missteps”
The wave of sexual assault allegations continues to flow in, and people who were once highly respected by their peers are turning out to be creeps and perpetrators. Among those people are Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, Brett Ratner, and Louis C.K., all of whom have lost a great deal in the weeks since they’ve been outed. Now, John Lasseter, the CCO of Pixar and head of Disney Animation Studios, is stepping away from his responsibilities and going on a six-month leave of absence in order to address some of the serious “missteps” he has taken throughout his career. The magic of Frozen, the animated phenomenon that took the world by blizzard, will be back in an all new animated short film that can be seen before all showings of Pixar’s Coco. In the short, titled Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, the holiday season gets underway in the kingdom of Arendelle, Elsa reveals to Anna that there has never been a holiday tradition since their parents’ death. However, hope is at hand when Olaf and Sven decide to go on an epic adventure and find the perfect tradition for the two sisters before the big day arrives. We were fortunate enough to sit down with directors Kevin Deters and Stevie Wermers, as well as producer Roy Conli and, of course, the voice of Olaf himself Josh Gad to talk a little bit about Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, its themes, and what they hope audiences pull from their experience watching it.
