| Disney’s Streaming ‘Star Wars’ Show To Be A $100 Million Production Effort
Disney’s Star Wars TV slate will be expanding beyond the traditional TV broadcast format. In addition to the anime-style Star Wars: Resistance, which will air on The Disney Channel, there is also the live-action series which will air on Disney’s streaming service. We’ve known that Jon Favreau will be working on the series, but no other information about it has been provided… until now. There’s a new report that says the untitled series will have a $100 million production price tag, making it one of the most expensive shows to produce next to HBO’s Game Of Thrones and other big budget shows. Additionally, there is a rumor that says the live-action show could be about the Outer Rim planet Mandalore – the home planet of characters like Jango Fett, Boba Fett, and Sabine. More on the story below.

Solo: A Star Wars Story
Director: Ron Howard
Writers: Lawrence Kasdan, Jon Kasdan
Cast: Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Joonas Suotamo, Paul Bettany
Distributor: Walt Disney Pictures
Rated PG-13 | 135 Minutes
Release Date: May 25, 2018 The Star Wars film universe will never be the same now that Disney has started to release spinoffs. These films are part of a larger anthology that will explore parts of the untold stories of the mythology. Much of which has revolved around the Skywalker saga. Solo: A Star Wars Story is a departure from what we have seen since Disney acquired the property, but it also stays true to the spirit of stories that take place in a galaxy far, far away. Of course, it is incredibly risky when making an origins movie about a character as iconic as Han Solo. But if it is done right, it can pay off in the long run. While Solo may be a little rough around the edges – just like its title character – it is the kind of spinoff that will not disappoint. Check out my full review below.

| Jon Favreau To Develop ‘Star Wars’ Series For Disney’s Streaming Service
There are new details emerging about the content that will be seen on Disney’s yet-to-be-named streaming service. The service will launch in 2019 and provide customers with content from a wide-range of Disney properties from Disney itself to Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm. Earlier this year, Disney CEO Bob Iger talked about the number of Star Wars original shows that would be created specifically for the direct-to-consumer platform. While he wasn’t able to talk in great detail about what we would see in these new shows, he did say that the level of talent would be significant. And now we are learning just how significant it will be. Lucasfilm has just announced that Jon Favreau will be an executive producer on one of the Star Wars series that can be streamed exclusively on Disney’s streaming service. More on the story below.

| Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and More Confirmed For Jon Favreau’s ‘The Lion King’
Jon Favreau‘s The Lion King is already being hailed as one of the most anticipated films of 2019. We saw a small snippet of the live-action take of the animated opening sequence at D23, which pretty much tells us that this will be a visually stunning film. But that was just the beginning. One of the biggest rumors going around earlier on in the casting process was that Beyoncé Knowles-Carter was going to play Nala. Well, you can put that rumor to rest, as the actress and singer has been confirmed to play her. Along with confirming Beyoncé Disney has also confirmed the rest of the full cast, which can be found below.
